Detectives Arrest Probationer In Thefts From Vehicles Case


Location of Incident: Various locations in Glasgow, Stanton and Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Various times over the past 30 days

Suspect(s): Eligio Cintron, 42, of North Van Buren Street and Stroud Street in Wilmington, Delaware

Resume: On June 8th, Troop 2 detectives ended a month-long investigation into thefts from vehicles in the Stanton and Glasgow areas. Troopers arrested Eligio Cintron as he broke into a vehicle in the rear lot of the Embassy Suites in the City of Newark. Subsequent investigation linked Cintron to nine other incidents resulting in felony and misdemeanor charges of Theft, Criminal Mischief, Receiving Stolen Property, Sale of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglar Tools and Conspiracy.

Most of these incidents occurred in the Pencader Corporate Center and the corridor along State Routes 4 & 7. Items stolen by Cintron included laptop computers, GPS units and other electronics items. Cintron was committed to Gander Hill on a $23,700 cash bond and a Violation of Probation administrative warrant.

No stolen property was recovered in this case as it is believed Mr. Cintron sold these items.
