True that, except that we'd still need to check their website to keep them honest...or at least so that we know what kind of misinformation that's there each day.
Obituaries are news stories about someone's life written after that person's death. These stories carry a reporter's byline.
Death Notices are what people commonly refer to as "obits" - but those are paid for, just like a classified ad, and must run in print exactly as submitted by family or friends.

Maybe you could have a link on the right like you do for other things and post obituaries there. aaaaaait would be a nice addition.
