INCIDENT: First Degree Assault/ Attempted Murder DATE: April 28, 2009
LOCATION: 7400 Esham Road, Parsonsburg, MD NARRATIVE: On April 28, 2009 at 1637 hours the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack received a call from PRMC indicating they had the victim of a gunshot wound in the ER. Uniform Troopers responded and confirmed. Members of WBI responded and assumed the investigation. The incident took place in a body shop located in the 7400 block of Esham Road, Parsonsburg, MD. The victim was working in the shop when the two suspects entered and a confrontation ensued. The victim was beat about his head and neck and shot in his lower back. He was transported to PRMC by private vehicle. He was treated at PRMC and will be kept over night. No motive is known at this time.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation at 410-548-4898 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776 SUSPECTS: Two AA males one taller and thicker than the other. The larger had darker skin. They were traveling in a early 90’s model 4 door Subaru.

Damn, I think it's the same night that I'm going to the Globe Theater in Berlin to see legendary bluesman guitarist Roy Book Binder, June 19th. Waiting for a reply about tickets. I may be able to make it back for the main event. Roy's in his mid sixty's now, got to see him while I can.

Any way this sounds very strange. A four door Suburu ??? What kinda thugs are these. Anyone that would drive a suburu to a crime is in need of some serious cash. Robbing a back yard body shop is not going to get. Or will it. Something does not add up here.

since the majority of the commenters to this story are more concerned about the Guerrero fight, going to a theater for blues music, or the type of vehicle that the suspects (attempted murderers) arrived at the scene in...I'd like to add for those they may 'really' care. The victim was shot twice, he was in surgery most of the evening, and is now in critical but not life threatening condition. He is a young man with a family, and if we could explain "WHY" crime happens there probably would be a lot less of it!! People have ridden in much less to commit crimes. I'm glad he made it through this senseless act and my prayers for a fast recovery are with him & his family.
In this day & age- you can never be too careful. We should all be thankful it wasn't our son, husband, or father of our children!

Alot of people in the Pittsville/Parsonsburgs corrider keep guns at home-the robbers are lucky they didnt get blasted on.I hope the victim can identify the scumbags who shot him!
Two ways to look at this.....
This doesn't add up at all. Why would 2 thugs go out to a bodyshop on the outskirts of town for money??? As you can see with some of the comments , people didn't even know there was a bodyshop out there. These guys obviously did this because they knew there was something to be had and knew a way to get it - there particularly - don't you think? I don't think we all have to use too many brains to realize there must be MOTIVE?!?!?! Couldn't just be 2 desperate thugs or they would have robbed a bank or convenience store where they know there is cash to be had and lots of it. Guilty until proven innocent or is it the other way around in this case????
I feel bad for the guy and his family that is suffering due to this incident and lately it is very sad to know that this is happening all of the time now.
Its 2009 and we all need to wake up and realize carrying or having cash available is not too smart. The world is desperate right now with desperate people . Very scary to know we live in a world where ppl only care about The Globe Theatre and other such non sense rather than this situation and getting to the bottom of the victim and the 2 thugs that haven't been caught yet. In a small town like ours I sure hope Jim Ireton can turn it around like he claims he can.

from what i hear, this guys name was brock layton. im suprised nobody has posted comments about him bein involved with drugs. its obvious to me. and im pretty sure he was doing work for somebody and they knew about his drug business wich inturn led them to attempt to rob him. he's been selling pot & cocaine forever. 2 black guys robbed the white guy. somebody tell me i dont kno wut im talking about. but you'll soon hear.........

This occured in the same area that a body was dumped on the side of the road. He was murdered and they threw his body out on Eshsm Road. Maybe a connection???????
They also made no attempt to call the police, the hospital had to do it. Riding to the hospital yourself with two bullets in your back seems risky for being paralized for life?
I do agree there is more to this story than meets the eye.
the crazy part is thatsome idiot thought it was a good idea to put the victims name out there and assume it has to do with drugs... when no one knows the truth and i am sure after getting shot in the back the victim isnt talking much to anyone.... it is out there and it is a body shop where money is taken in... who is to say someone hadnt just paid the victim in cash and decided to send two thugs out to get it back for a small fee....and who knows if the victim didnt pass out after getting shot and couldnt call and whoever took him was worried more about getting the victim to the hospital cause it would take another 25 mins for a ambulance to get there.. and i am sure the police would say it is drug related if it was..and i am sure there are alot of things in this case we dont know.. but i am sure it is going to be hard to find a good reason the victim was shot and left for dead...i cant think of any ...
