Windfall Tax on Retirement Income Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying.
Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this. Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities! This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' (I am not rich, are you?) When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: 'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.'
( Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'. Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

It's been proven again and again that throwing money at the poor doesn't raise their standard of living, it, after the money's gone, reduces it from what it was to begin with.

Sorry... This is a terrible op-ed. Consider:
1. A tax on the rich isn't such a bad idea. Who do you think should pay for the mess created by the rich?
2. An equal tax on all money earned is fair. Why give stock income a special status? This just helps the rich.
3. Money is fungible. You cannot assign revenue to expenses at the Federal level.
4. Impeachment requires a crime.

I totally agree with your post. However, you have to consider who will read and respond to it and what they say. Fifty two or more percent of these people voted for her in the first place so, to agree with you, many of them would have to admit they were wrong. That goes against everything a liberal believes.
Consider, also, the same 52% voted for a man who is openly a liar, a racist, a cheat and now has no idea what is best for this country. Barack Obama is, by his own admission, socialist leaning and probably, at heart, a muslim and is the first president who refuses to prove he was born in this country.

Listen if anyone wants to talk fiscal responsibility, lets speak about fiscal responsibility. When Ron Reagan took office, we have a surplus in the budget. We weren't out of debt from the depression, but we were paying it off. He left office and we had a deficit in the budget, thanks to a tax break for the rich... a huge tax break. Then Bush Sr. took office and the budget deficit became even worse. When Bill Clinton took office we were 10 trillion in debt. When he left office we were 6 trillion in debt and there was a budget deficit. Bush Jr. took office gave more tax cuts to the rich and now we are 12 trillion in debt. He doubled the national debt in 8 years folks. These are budgetary facts taken directly from the senate budget website. Historically, Democrats while they raise tax bring our nation out of debt and leave office with a decent economy, FDR is a great example. He however was the biggest reason for our huge debt however the decisions he made, SS income primarily, millions and millions of people use and brought us out of the depression. Think about that before anyone speaks of fiscal responsibility. I personally am pretty wealthy. I make over $300000 a year and am glad to help out. People claim morality for a lot of things and this country helps millions worldwide. Why is it we can spends trillions on a war in Iraq, but it is clearly not ok to spend 1 trillion to give people in our own country medical treatment. The point of a government is to protect, provide freedom and well being and that is not socialist that is Thomas Jefferson himself. So get an education and learn a little and stop watching so much damn Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh. As if the man can say anything. He was a sports broadcaster who wanted more money, squandered it on drugs and his sleezy women, with whom he has cheated on all 3 wives.
