And he seems to be such a nice young man. I am sure his mum is awfully proud of him.

Amazing young man... Proud if him.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't believe Simon Cowell would interrupt that boy like that. What composure that young man had to just stop and belt that next one out.

Hard to say what was more amazing, him or Boyle. But this kid would have been a stunner even if older.

Wow. Just wow! Sure makes a person feel good to see young Shaheen and the surprising Susan Boyle show us "it's what's inside that counts"!

Awesome! He sounds so good! props to him.

Absolutely awesome. That young man has the looks and talent to carry him a very, very long way. Best of wishes to him.

That was totally scripted. Simon did a bad acting job. Yes the boy is a good singer but this was a plant to keep boosting ratings.

Joe, if you think you're responsible for millions of clicks on a YouTube page, then your ego is out of control. That's an absurd claim that ignores the billions of other people on the planet who also have YouTube links sent their way! I like your site, but get real, dude.

seemed like a set-up to me... simon does have a flair for the dramatic...

anonymous 5:05, no, that's not my claim at all.

I simply pointed out the numbers before and after but we were one of the first people to put her audition on the Internet. That being said, we certainly played a role in such numbers. I had many people tell me they sent it to many on their mailing list and they sent it on and on and on.

Have you taken a look at the numbers on Youtube for this young man? Perhaps that will give you an idea on just how many of you are visiting it, (along with others, I understand)? For what it's worth, we have more of a following every day than most realize. No, it's not in the millions, of course. However, we have a RSS Feed to goes way beyond just a local Blog. I'll add, our Google Hits are one of the highest in the Country percentage wise. Like it or not, believe it or not, Salisbury News is much bigger than most people want to believe.

All that being said, I still agree with you, we didn't create all those hits, that's for sure. Just don't deny the fact that we put it out there 2 days before the MSM picked up on it and because of that RSS Feed, it could be the main reason why the MSM found it. Just food for thought.

Joe,
As far as Susan Boyle goes, she was featured on one of the TV news shows the day before or the day after you posted her on your website. I feel certain that was the primary cause of her sudden popularity, although I do believe that you contributed (especially locally). Also, just want to mention, that your site is really great at being current and interested. I enjoy looking at it.

Just a question here--I wonder what this gifted young man will sound like in a year or two when his hormones change his voice???

This boy is good. But, he is not able to bring us to tears like Susan Boyle can. And we don't need to see him repeatedly like we do Susan. I had to laugh at your assertion that you have made her the superstar she has become.
