State Police To Conduct Kent County Citizens Police Academy

Dover – The Delaware State Police is announcing that the spring 2009 Delaware State Police Kent County Citizens’ Police Academy will begin on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 and will conclude on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. This seven-week academy, which runs from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M, will be held at the Delaware State Police Academy on the Headquarters Complex in Dover.

Participants will be informed of a wide variety of police activities consistent with what a Delaware Trooper experiences today. The instruction includes criminal and traffic investigations, arrest procedures, police operations, use of deadly force, community policing and various other law enforcement related topics. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to ride with a patrol officer at the troop of their choice.
