DID YOU VOTE?

The Daily Times is trying to imply that they expect far less a turn out today at the Polls than any other time in Salisbury's history. OK, so its cold out. The roads are clear and IF you follow their lead you'll simply show that they can control your mind and an election.

I don't care who you vote for, get off your lazy rear ends, stop making excuses and ACT like an American. These Candidates are even offering you a ride to the Polls, no questions asked!

Let me also say this. Why in the heck is the Daily Times asking City Attorney Paul Wilber his take on his expectations for the turn out? Wouldn't you be better off speaking to someone at the Election Board instead? He's an attorney, for crying out loud! OH, that's right, the Daily Times WANTS a minimum turn out!

First of all, it makes YOU look like complete FOOLS when your own City has been turned upside down. Criminals are taking more money at gun point from your ATM machines than you are. Prostitutes are making more money at $20.00 a pop than you do working all day at an honest job. Gangs are police the streets in far more control than the SPD and rather than encourage YOU to get out there and vote, they'd rather try to convince you that no one else is going to show up, so why should YOU.

Quit being so stupid Folks. Paul Wilber NEEDS Gary Comegys to win. The Daily Times needs Gary Comegys to win. I have 5 Family Members serving our Country right now to give you that FREEDOM to VOTE. Get off your lazy arsnicks and VOTE!

If YOU live in the City of Salisbury and you have not Voted, ask for a slightly extended lunch break and get to the Polls. IF your Boss won't let you, you just let us know what business they have and I'll be happy to express who they are and the fact that they will do NOTHING to encourage you to get out there and Vote.

That being said, we'd like to also know what businesses ENCOURAGE their Employees to get out there and Vote. If you know your Co-Worker lives in the City and they're not wearing one of the "I Voted" stickers, get on them NOW and get them out there to Vote. People are giving up their lives to allow you this FREEDOM! Show some respect and make a difference here in Salisbury.

There are NO EXCUSES. If you're capable of getting out there to buy a pack of cigarettes, a gallon of milk or whatever, you have a few minutes to spare to prove the Daily Times and that fool attorney Paul Wilber wrong.

I voted this morning. In and out of Harvest Baptist church (behind the Giant) in 3 minutes flat.

Does Paul Wilbur charge for any time he gies to the city including a simply question from the Daily Rag? I guess it doesn't matter since the city tax payers pay for everything else.

Stop this spending now! Get out today and vote for the person who will finally turn Salisbury around. If not, you don't care what your tax dollars are spent on.

Remember if turnout is low, everyone is satisfied with their current government. I know I am not satisfied and plan to vote for change today. Encourage other to get out and vote, in order to make our city better.

I know I am tired of paying the highest property taxes along with high water and sewer fees.

What do we have to show for it? Shameful downtown, highest crime per capita in the state, businesses leaving for Delaware, at least a 70% home rental rate, a WWTP that pollutes the river whenever a heavy rain comes, fines for polluting the river, a zoo and huge drain pipe polluting the river, overpriced fire station sinking into a bog, $800,000 "toy" boat for the firemen, emergency response time hindered by the drawbridge, gangs, strained relationship between town and university, nontransparent city government, and over $100,000 to save a rusty old standpipe that nobody really cares about.

Wow, why do I continue to live here? Yeah, I'm voting for change today.

My wife and I are trying to thawl out the car now. She uses a wheel chair but that is not going stop her. She can't stand another 4 years of the "ssme old, same old"!

If you do not go out and vote today, don't complain when we are stuck with the same old crap.

If you really care about what has become of our city, do your part to change it.

The time has come...What happens in the election today could have a huge impact on the future of the City of Salisbury.

It is time for change...Get to the polls and do your part.

Just voted at the Presby. Church near downtown -- my first time here.

That Comegys idiot has his signs all over the place -- it looks ridiculous and ugly, too.

Took your rec. and voted for Caldwell and Ireton.

I just spoke to a friend at the Presb. Church Poll and by 11:00 AM there were just over 100 voters out of nearly 6,000 registered voters. That is dismal. I am hoping things will change and people will take advantage of their lunch hour and after work before the polls close today.

Vote Ireton and Caldwell

I voted at the church near downtown aroun930 am. There was next to nobody there. I did give a thumbs up to the gentleman across the street with the caldwell sign.
My hubby is voting on his lunch break.
I will say the parking lot could have been in better shape with the icy stuff. That would deter the people that are not sure-footed.
I am praying for change.
Please people, get out and vote.

Mr. Albero, I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but yesterday after noon central alarm dispatched Station 16, Station 1 and Station 3 Fruitland for a reported house fire on Frederick Avenue near the college. All 3 stations responded and the volunteers at the Fruitland fire department smoked paid fireman from Station 16 and 1 in their first due. This is not an attack on any of fireman. This is just a wake up call to the citizens that used to be protected by the old fire station near the library. You people are not very well protected these days because your station has been moved so far away with many obstacles. This is what you need to think about when you go to the polls to vote today. Please vote for Ireton and Caldwell. Comegys support of this new station may end up being a fatal mistake.

Thanks to a nearby off duty assistant chief who lives in the neighborhood for stopping by in his personal vehicle to establish command. If he didn't do that then the volunteers from Fruitland would have had command. Fortunately it only turned out to be a chimney fire and nothing serious. Fruitland did a great job of getting out of the station quick, but that isn't going to happen every call because they are volunteers and won't be around all the time.

Please Boot Bubba in the primary.

Vote Ireton and Caldwell today and demand your fire station back.

I just voted at the Presb. Church on Broad Street around 1:00 and the lady doing registration said that there have been over 130 voters there. She said that so far the turn out has been better than expected. But still, considering that there are only 3 polling places-that's only 390 voters out of the some 6,000 registered!! Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and Get out and vote for Ireton and Caldwell folks!!

Help turn the tide is Salisbury politics!!!

My husband I voted around 1pm at Harvest Baptist Church. There was nobody in front of us, but 1 right behind us and as we were leaving there were some older ladies and gentlemen coming in. The woman holding the door for them said voting was picking up.

I hope that more people get out and vote! This is IMPORTANT!

C'mon people, today's the important vote, getting Bubba out of the race. If he's still in it tomorrow morning he could possibly win the big vote at the end of all this campaigning. End his race for Mayor TODAY!

Anonymous 10:06-

I hear you on the high sewage/water fees- but I bet yours aren't as high as ours. Unfortunately, we don't live in the city, but we have city water and sewer- our water bill every three months is $225- that's right- $225- all because we get a higher rate because we don't pay taxes (which I get in theory- but I don't get why our bill is almost three times that of the average city resident). At least you have the ability to do something- we don't get to vote in the primary. Hopefully the residents of the city will choose wisely.

No I could not vote. I own a business within the city limits and commercial property; however because I reside outside the city limits I have no say in the city election. Oh, and by the way, I pay over $16,000.00/year in property taxes on that building not to mention inventory taxes and personal property taxes on the business.
