At the Urban Salisbury Forum last week, City Councilman and Mayoral Candidate Gary Comegys TWICE stated that the trash and landscaping on the Downtown Plaza was his biggest concern.
OK Gary, since pictures don't lie and are worth a thousand words, what say you now. These recent photo clearly show you can talk the talk but you can't walk the walk. If "I" had made that statement, trust me, I would have personally made it a point to drive down that Plaza each and every day and pick up whatever trash I saw floating around.
I would have also called the Mayor's Office and told that woman she had better get Public Works off their butts, (I'm being nice) and clean that darned Plaza up! I keep saying it time and time again Folks, their questions are pampered at these Forums and even with that being said, the Candidates aren't answering them, at least with honesty anyway.
Again I'll ask, "what are YOUR plans for the old Fire Station 16?" Don't ask Gary Comegys, because he'll just lie anyway and tell you what you want to hear. Hence the photos above.

Old Station 16 needs to be turned back over to the fire department to be utilized as an volunteer engine company and and ambulance station.
They have obviously ran out of space at the new location, just look at the size of that new ladder truck and there are more new trucks coming.
The new fire station has not picked up any, none, nada, volunteers from that area at all. Response times have obviously increased due to the overcrowded and congested streets. Now there is now fire or EMS protection for the downtown or the Camden area. Hmmmmm.... I wonder if that is because Campbell and Cohen live on that side of town???
Is Tommy allowed to give citations to the city the way he gives them to the citizens?
The Mayor has told the neighborhoods that there are grants out there that they can get in order to provide more lighting. It should stand to reason that there are many grants the city could get in order to clean up and repair the plaza. The business owners have said to make the road one way, with parking spaces on one side. Makes sense to me, to listen to the people who work there everyday.
In addition, forget the North Prong, and develop the other branch of the river between the Ramada and Market Street Inn. It is more closely connected to the Downtown area and should be redeveloped along with the Plaza to make downtown a destination for locals and tourists. Salisbury is already a regional shopping area, they just need a reason to come downtown. Salisbury could be that place, we just need leadership with vision.

On a personal note I would not vote for Gary Comegy.
He's been there way to long and he is part of Salisbury's problem. He lacks foresight, vision, equality, and he has been on the taxpayers dole for so long that he doesn't know what it's like to actually balance a budget.
He can 'sign' all of Salisbury all if he wants and no matter how many signs he places it won't change my mind.
Downtown Plaza is a joke and it is an ans has remained an eyesore unuseable area. Commie Geez is beyond lying he is so blinded he believes his own smoke screen, No agency, company or industry will come into Salisbury and make a positive mark with a bozo like him farting around the issues. Take your hot air and list of failures caused by avoidance and follow tilghman out of town you loser.You idea of the better down town leading to better areas around it is so flawed it proves your ignorance of reality. The trickle down theory of economics never worked. Oh yeah Gary don't you and the mayor go in the Wicomico River there is already to much crap in it.
Anyone voting for Comegys needs to be penalized for ignorance. For a punishment you will need to see Gary, Barrie, Shaney and Louise naked. How's that for a diversion to being stupid with your vote

Jim and Bob better get kicking or this guy is going steam-role them. They need to stand up and start talking, hit the nail on the head with whatever they have.

Doug 12:17 It has been pointed out that you have two votes in the primary. If their supporters were to vote for Bob AND Jim, Bubba wouldn't make it to the general.

5:16, Why I have heard nothing come from Jim or Bob that is specific, I dont see where those two have stood up and showed a set on any issue. Times running out, if they want it their going to have to take it, its not just going to be handed to them. Stand up and say what needs to be said for gods sake.
