3 Years Ago Today

A picture is worth a thousands words, so I'll be brief. Three years ago this home was sitting vacant after a fire and still is TODAY! While the Mayor has gone after others for such code violations, this home site beside the Salisbury Police Department and has yet to be torn down. Now you know there's a TON of violations here and there have been lots of excuses as to why it hasn't come down but again I ask ALL of you. What has Mayor Tilghman done good for the City of Salisbury in the past 12 years?

I got a notice from the city for having some old stuff I was throwing away for sitting in my yard until I got my pickup fixed.

Selective enforcement. Barrie stayed at her post far too long; that is one thing a good politician never does. Barrie, unfortunately, overstayed--she seriously misjudged her own capabilities to lead.

Nobody, and I do mean nobody, should get cited for anything going on, or not going on, on their property, simply because of stupid stuff like this. When is the city gonna open their eyes and see what is sitting right next to the police department?????? Tell us Barrie, you know it all.

What are the candidates opinions on this?

It needs to come down immediately.

Enough is Enough

Hey where are those 3 inch 1/2 stroke house numbers that MUST be on every building in the city? Calling Tom Stevenson, calling Dan Hogg, get out there and write that slumlord a violation because you missed one.

You should take a photo of the house on Middle Neck Drive East of the Moss Hill apartments that is falling apart. Blue / Gray in color North side of road. See what you can get done with that.

There are places all over town like that.

I know this old man down the street that is ill and got a citation for a few sheets of plywood leaning against his house.

I took care of it for him, however you must think - What Gives?

This home should serve as a monument for what is wrong with Salisbury. This home burned as Katrina hit several years ago and has sat untouched ever since. It is visible for all to see from RT 50 and is an eyesore. The damage is so extensive that it will never be restored. WHY has it sat for so long ? If anyone else has the misfortune of a fire like this, they are hounded by the city to demolish or repair it quickly. This has not been the case here obviously. The next Mayor will hopefully correct these issues and bring the City back to life.

What is the address. Who owns this?

The code Dept should be disbanded and a new team assembled. They are insane. In fact we should have a new Mayor and council make that their 1st duty. As long as money talks, that will never happen.

Joe can you bump this post? This young fella has been going around the Moss Hill area lately tagging everyone and every house for some of the dumbest things.
