This ruling was made earlier this week:
The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that people who complain of sex discrimination in schools can sue under both a 1972 federal law and a broader post-Civil War provision. The decision Wednesday was a victory for the parents of a Massachusetts schoolgirl, who said she was subjected to repeated harassment by a third-grade boy on their school bus.
Lower federal courts had ruled that the parents, Lisa and Robert Fitzgerald, could not sue the Barnstable School Committee under the older law because Title IX, barring sex discrimination at schools that receive federal money, ruled out using the older provision. Justice Samuel Alito said in his opinion for the court that Title IX does not bar suits under the older civil rights, which was designed to enforce the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause.

Good Something has to be done about the harassment in schools. So many administrators look the other way, boys will be boys etc. Plus these kids need to learn NOW what is right and wrong.
Children aren't so innocent any more. Recall the case of the 11 year old boy raping a 13 year old girl. So maybe this isn't as extreme a call as you think.
When I was A school boy the only reason I didnt lift a girls dress was because I didnt want to get i trouble.
Isnt the school suppose to be responsible for our childrens well being ? Do teachers today think that they are not also responsible to re-enforce moral as well as educational values? Who gravey of a job do they want ? Work 9 monthes out of the year. get three month vacations. jeesh .
But it is a very important position in life. Because when the teachers dont do their jobs then children get older...say ....16 yrs old and go out and kill people.
Bring back corperal punishment and the lords pray. These were the deterents in my life , who about yours ? And be honest. Dont just oppose to aurgue. Why didnt you do things that are considered wrong ?
I was in 7th grade and constantly harassed by one boy in my class. I tried to get into a different homeroom, turned down.
Before that year was out he forced me into a basement area and raped me. I never told anyone, I went through the rest of school with that boy.
Did not happen here I went to school in a very nice suburb of Pittsburgh
