Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On January 6, 2009 at approximately 12:25 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect following the investigation of a theft of property from the Food Lion Store on Tilghman Road in Salisbury. The theft occurred on January 5, 2009, and the responding officer was able to positively identify the suspect, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

ARRESTED: Thomas Douglas Foxwell, 44 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 6, 2009 at approximately 1:14 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Priscilla St. for traffic violations. Following the traffic stop the below listed suspect, an acquaintance of the vehicle operator, became disorderly and refused to leave the area. The officers attempted to calm the suspect, but were unsuccessful.

ARRESTED: Van Edwin Stewart, 48 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Disorderly conduct
Obstructing and hindering an investigation

On January 6, 2009 at approximately 7:55 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to assist a female with a domestic escort at her residence on Foxfield Circle. During the escort, the officers located the below listed suspect, known to the victim, hiding under a bed. An investigation revealed that the suspect had taken property from the victim without authorization.

ARRESTED: Michael Maurice Harmon, 35 years of age Stockton, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 500)

On January 7, 2009 at approximately 12:15 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect following the investigation of an assault with a handgun. In December of 2008, a victim reported to the Salisbury Police that a suspect, listed below, had threatened him a number of times and most recently with a handgun. Detectives of the Salisbury Police were able to positively identify the suspect which led to the issuance of an arrest warrant. In addition, once identified it was found that the suspect had previous felony convictions which prohibited his possession of a firearm.

ARRESTED: Allan Dwayne Purnell, 28 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
First degree assault
Handgun on a person
Handgun use in a violent felony crime
Reckless endangerment
Firearm possession with a felony conviction
Stalking

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 7, 2009 at approximately 1:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers were advised by store security that the below listed suspect had been observed by store personnel taking property from the store without making payment. The property was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED: Michael Stephen Hunter, Jr., 24 years of age Delmar, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

On January 7, 2009 at approximately 2:40 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the area of Camden Avenue and South Boulevard for the report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident. While responding, the officers were given the location of the suspect vehicle and began a pursuit of the vehicle in the area of Riverside Drive. After a short pursuit, the officers were able to stop the suspect vehicle which was driven by the below listed suspect.

ARRESTED: Chantay Nicole Moss, 22 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Failure to stop at a motor vehicle accident
Failure to return to the scene of an accident
Nineteen (19) associated traffic citations

The guy thomas douglas foxwell is a crack head looking for a free ride to get him through the winter.

Three hots and a cot so to speak. I wonder if he will be given psyc. help while he is detained? No that would save the community to much money. But I know this indavidual and he needs help. Not jail time.

Please someone get him the help he needs . It is a waiste of money to just house him over the winter monthes.
