Please everyone help to support this project. The kids around here need and deserve something positive to do and YES skateboarding is positive. It treats you to many life lessons. Success , failure , fortitude , passion , and sometimes pain but maybe most important perseverance. I have seen skaters spend days , weeks to perfect a trick and pay the consequences again and again but have the ambition to succeed. To most 'older' people I'm sure skateboarders are sometimes seen as trouble makers and losers but nothing could be further from the truth. Donate money if you can and time if you have it to a GREAT cause.
I don't find skaters to be troublemakers at all, I find them to be young people looking for a place to spend their time other than hanging out at the mall doing nothing. I hope your fundraisers are successful and these kids get what they need. They've got my support.
The should of never torn down the old bowl by the civic center. All though it really wasnt set up for modern day street skating and it didnt have a half pipe/quarter pipe. Its was a cool place to be.
jason, i'm old AND a skateboarder! i feel that the public should get behind this. this includes the local government! they need to step up to the plate and help fund this project!
and doug? as right as you may be, the fact of the matter is that they DID tear it down! now we're left with nothing. i for one "AM" supporting this effort. if you'd like to help, you can support it to. come on man, help!
