Salvation Army Bell Ringing UPDATE

Sams Club Update

Come on Folks, help us fill these slots still open. The Heating & A/C Companies are now challenging one and other and they are filling up the open slots. How about Insurance Companies? Bankers? Lawyers? Fuel Companies!

Look at the schedule at the WalMart location for the 18th & 19th. WalMart has teamed up with us and took the entire day and night to cover these two days. Now THAT was COOL!

Come on Folks, this is a great cause and it will do your heart some good volunteering, even if it's only an hour. I will have an update early this evening and I hope to add your company name to the list.

Thank You!

Joe

Joe,
I know this has nothing to do with salvation army bell ringing, but i drove past the winterfest of lights at the city park and there were 3 or 4 people waiting for someone to come get a carriage ride. They had a whole section set up looked like they had some goodies too. As i drove by noone was there and i drove back that way on my way home and still, no one had showed up yet. I dont know if it is free or not, but here these people are trying to do something good for the community and i doubt anyone knows about it. Hopefully you can spread the word so that we encourage things like this as a community, because simply if no one shows up this year they sure wont be back next year. And it discourages anyone else from attempting to do something of that nature.
Thanks

I don't understand why the fuss about work-release imates working for the salvation

army. the real issue is the dump thieves light sentence.no suprise there it is a white collar crime and it almost never met by the heavy hand of the law. The heavy hand is reserved for the people who make a couple hundred bucks a week selling narcotics and toting hand guns.see in order to save room in the prison system for the latter you have to let the white collar criminals off easy. This has been going on for as long as I've been old enough to understand it. They call it mandatory minumum sentencing, exile etc.

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks. com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.
This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.
Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

Oh my God, how did I not get it until just now? This is all about advertising! Clever, clever Joe. Make that money. Altruism lives!

11:01am:

And I thought I was the cynical one. I have never resorted to name-calling or bashing on this blog, but you, sir or madam, are a class A jerk.

1101 am: it's not about advertising! It's about local companies and local people stepping up to fill these spots that NEED the be filled. I applaud anyone that steps up and accepts the responsibility to help our community!

Joe,
This has nothing to do with this blog, but I was wondering if you could raise awareness in regards to Wicomico Housing Authority-did you read the paper article today:
http://www.delmarvanow.com/article/20081204/NEWS01/812040399/1002

Read my comment on there-the housing authority is a joke around here-Crime idles around these areas. Next thing you know, they will be calling the booth street area "lil Cabrini-Green". While this may not seem to affect middle class citizens such as you and I, our tax dollars pay for these subsidies and the neighborhoods plague our town! WHA needs to get it together and make real changes-not just temporary face lifts.
I feel as though the WHA has been overlooked and flying under the radar for way too long-its time to bring them out. Maybe Executive Director Narcinda Church can live in one of these "improved units" for a month and see how she can handle it....Thank you for entertaining my thoughts. Lets get 'em Joe!
