Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On November 10, 2008 at approximately 7:55 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the area of Eastern Shore Drive and College Avenue for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, the officers met with a victim who advised that he had been robbed as he withdrew U.S. currency from an ATM machine. The victim advised that as he was located at an outside ATM machine he was approached by two (2) suspects. One of the suspects produced a long firearm and threatened the victim. The suspect with the firearm (suspect # 1) took the currency that had been removed from the ATM machine and both suspects fled from the area on foot toward South Division Street.

The suspects are described as:

1. Black male, 5’10”, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans and a black mask.

2. Black male, 5’07”, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans and a black mask.

On November 10, 2008 at approximately 9:10 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to a residence on the two hundred (200) block of Ohio Avenue for the report of a domestic type altercation. Upon arrival the officers observed the below listed suspect engaged in a physical altercation with a female victim, choking the female. The officers removed the suspect from the altercation, and placed the suspect under arrest.

ARRESTED: Marvin Thomas Walker , 46 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Second degree assault
Reckless endangerment

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On November 10, 2008 at approximately 11:46 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Sears Department store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of two (2) juvenile shoplifters. Upon arrival the officers made contact with security personnel who advised that store employees had observed the two (2) below listed suspects attempt to take clothing from the store without making payment. The clothing was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED #1: 15 year old juvenile Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #2: 16 year old juvenile Millersville, Maryland

CHARGES (Both): Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Both released to guardians

On November 10, 2008 at approximately 6:35 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the area of Smith Street and Ohio Avenue for the report of a located stolen bicycle. Upon arrival the officers were advised that a previously reported stolen bicycle had been located. The bicycle had been reported stolen on November 4 from the University Terrace apartments. The officers recovered the bicycle from the below listed suspect, and the suspect was charged with the theft

ARREST: 17 year old juvenile Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 500)

DISPOSITION: Released to Juvenile Services

Here we go again. The "hooded" ones on the prowl! Seriously, what gives them the right to go around the rob people. Guarantee if they were listed as white guys, there would be a riot in the streets!

Maybe if it was a bit easier for law abiding citizens to obtain concealed weapon permits as it is here in Florida, hooded thugs may think twice about antics like that at the ATM machine. Jack K Richards jackkcharl@aol.com

It is funny how Salisbury's finest can't get the crime under control but sure as hell will write you a ticket for a seat belt violation in a split second.

I agree, but at the same time, seat belt tickets is revenue for the city, and a simple violation that could lead to other things. So if you are a first class citizen, wear your seatbelt! Its that simple...you know how many thugs are arrested because a cop pulled them over for a seat belt violation! I wouldn't mock them pulling you over for that...Even the great Mike Lewis has made some awesome arrests because the dumby wasnt wearing a seat belt
