Armed Robbery

An armed robbery just occurred on Rt. 13 South at an ATM Machine. I'm told this time it was the BB&T Bank. It happened near the Allen Wood Shopping Center.

Ladies & Gentlemen, PLEASE be very careful and alert when using an ATM Machine during this time of the year. A gentleman was at the Machine when he was robed at gunpoint.

Salisbury Police, Sheriff's Department and State Police are right at the very moment searching the area I'll keep you updated as this just happened.
This is the THIRD armed robbery this week at ATM Machines.

More to come.......

I really really really really really really really (really) think it is time to send a message to the street sucka's that the next guy/gal you try to punk at an ATM may have a LEGALLY concealed smokewagon strapped under his/her leather jacket. (See, I told you old RB wasn't a true bleeding heart lib.-I like the second Amendment too)!!!!!!!

I hope they resist.

I'm a SU student -- here's the update I just got in email. the bold text is my highlighting:

Special Bulletin (update):

On November 14, 2008 at approximately 9:35 AM a Salisbury University student was robbed in the Allenwood Parking lot. The suspect told the victim that he had a gun; however, no weapon was displayed. After the suspect took the victim’s property, he fled on foot towards Cheers.

The suspect was described as an African-American male, approximately 20 years old. He was 5’4” to 5’5”, approximately 175lbs, and had no facial hair. He was wearing black pants, and a puffy black hooded coat (with the hood up).

Anyone who may have information about this crime is asked to contact the Wicomico Bureau of Investigations through the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department: (410) 548-4891. You may also provide information to the Salisbury University Police Department: (410) 543-6222, or anonymously to Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore: (410) 548-1776.

I would like to remind our campus community that crimes can occur anywhere at anytime. Individuals should always be attentive to their surroundings, and remain alert to the potential ill-intent of others nearby. Please review and consider the following tips:

Street Robbery Tips:
1. Try to remain calm. Do not resist. Consider the robber dangerous.
2. In most cases, the robber only wants your valuables/money and is not there to hurt you.
3. Assume the robber is armed, even if you don't see a weapon.
4. If a weapon is displayed, consider it to be real and loaded.
5. Do only what the robber tells you. If you don't understand, tell the robber.
6. Attempt to get a good, complete description of the robber, - taking note of unique and unusual characteristics.
7. Your main goal is to survive!
8. Don't fight back unless it is evident that your life is danger! The most effective self defense measures include running away, hiding and screaming.
9. Remember--your valuables can be replaced, your life can't.

Report any suspicious persons immediately to the police. If possible, use a cellular phone to call 911 while maintaining visual observation of the subject(s).

Damn it looks like Salisbury's finest showed up last on the scene again. Maybe we should replace the city police with the campus police. It's no wonder Salisbury cops are so bad as there averaged height is around 5'-2".

"African-American"....Thats a surprise!!!!!

All banks need to convert to drive-up ATM's like the one at the north M&T by IHOP. You can pull your vehicle close enough to the wall that noone can approach the driver-side door and there's enough distance from the corners that you could see someone coming around and have time to react accordingly.

Be careful there is some out there, even if there is an eyewitness to the crime, would say that is racial profiling. Yes they say they saw a black man rob that girl but we have to look for white people also or we will be called racists.

Anon 1:26: We don't know who you are, but typically, only people who are racist and ignorant leave comments like this. You must be ignorant and racist. Joe, why let this crap on?

The victim was a student and it didn't happen at an ATM. She was getting out of her car in front of Papa John's and was approached on her way to class.

Broad Daylight. Wow; the law enforcement in Salisbury is a joke, and the criminals sure as hell know it. Too bad I can't carry a gun and protect myself.

3:57. In Texas, I could take my pistol to my "Philosophy of Unlimited Love" seminar. Ever played poker with a chump? A chump is the person, sitting usually with two-pair, "who didn't produce their weapon." There will be absolutely no doubt as to my position if I subjectively/objectively determine my, or my family's safety, is in imminent danger. If ultimately given legal authority by my government, my weapon will become very clearly visible...then maybe you can find a jury of my peers to convict me!!!

don't blame salisbury pd, this area belongs to SU, but is patrolled by WCSO and MSP. Most calls are handled by MSP or WCSO not SU see who is handled the call please

4:17. I have more faith in the combat/search and rescue abilities of the Joseph House sisters than SU security. Just one of the many things a "certain president" has neglected while admiring the size of tapir genitals on her facebook page.

Are you serious? Now we are mocking their height? Funny how some of Salisbury's finest (this includes WCSO and MSP) are 5"5" and under. Please explain what their height has to do with this?

Never forget...Dynamite comes in small packages, C4 even smaller.

I crap bigger than most of those guys. LOL hey the sidearm makes us all equal. Dont blame anyone but society. The cops are up to thier eyeballs with bullshit property checks and stats for traffic. Go back to the old way of doing policing get to know your beat. Know who lives in and around your sector. If your heart in this job you dont care what color uniform you wear you just do it. You dont care about the pay you just do it. To all you Jar heads out there you have done a whole lot more for a whole lot less. Its time to get back to being what you swore to be. Serve and Protect and support your brother and sisters behind the badge. As for you cop bashers as you lay you little head tonight i will be watching over your streets and your homes to make sure you are safe. I will lay my life on the line for yours. That is what I do. I will do this even for the idiot that takes pot shots at me or crys when I stop to have a sandwich for dinner. I do what 90% of the general public can not or will not do. Now I know why the thin blue line was started. I dont do this job to hear your praise. I do this job because I hate the evil that man is willing to inflict upon one another. To all you Officers Stand Tall you are truly the chosen few.

All the MSP are good for is writing speeding tickets. They need to do more law enforcement in other areas and get off the highways and get on the streets where the "real" crime is going on.

You can tell the troopers who were former cops somewhere else, they know how to make a criminal arrest and not jsu right a speeding ticket. Why do you think they painted their cars that way, so they can hide in the woods easier adn catch speeders. Wooohoooo that is crime reduction. I understand most criminals drive to and from, but how many do they actually deal with, a criminal who does not want to get caught = don't speed.
