It's a shame someone can put so many years into a Blog, (3+ years) and only average 82 hits per day but as I've told Michael for the past few years, he's too verbose in every single Post he does and I never believed he did any real volume anyway.
I will no longer consider his Site as one of the top Blogs on the Eastern Shore because ANYONE can start a Blog and get these kind of hits no matter what the content is. I remember when I started National-Joe-A-Graphic and I was averaging 250 hits a day 3 years ago.
Now don't get me wrong, Michael is a very smart man and knows his politics. However, when he runs around saying he's an influential political Blogger, PLEASE! Hell, he'll get more hits off this Post than he gets in one month.
Currently Michael is #1 on Delmarva and #2 in Maryland. With the information below directly from Site Meter, Blognetnews has no clue what they're doing. Now I know some Bloggers will read this and say, Albero is just ticked off because he didn't rank that high this past week. That's just not true. Quite frankly, I'm pleased someone else is filling my shoes but I will admit that I'd rather see someone beating me out who actually posts more than once a day and gets thousands of hits per day. It's pretty bad when Michael's Site beats me out with only 82 hits per day. There's no question linking to one and other works and no matter what those other Bloggers say, I now have proof.
It doesn't matter what he says, I have seen his numbers and averages and I have even saved those images for future reference but more influential, I don't think so. So the next time you rag on me Michael, the joke is now on you and will forever be that way.

I've really got to ask then, if it isn't a little bit of jealousy, then why do you care? Why would it matter to you how many views, or hits, or whatever the guy gets? Why do you think anyone else cares either? That is his blog and he can run it as he sees fit. In the grand scheme of things, are blogs really that important anyway? Some are educational, some are sensationalistic (I think that's a word), and some are just writings of things that interest the author themselves. I am an avid reader of many blogs, but bottom line, they don't pay my bills, or make me happier, or allow me to take care of my wife and children better. That's just my personal feeling.
I am very disapointed in Michael. He told me his hits were in the hundreds per day.
I never believed he was doing well with his blog anyway. Ii's very rare I get past the first paragraph of any of his articles on the rare occasion I visit his site.
Why does this suprise you. When he was new I used to go there but there's no variety and his pictures always took forever to download.
Joe, you can't compare Sbynews hits to monblogues. The nature of both your sites are completely different.
From this reader's point of view, sbynews IS THE NEWS, constantly informing, and updating. Therefore it receive a far bigger number of hits, and deservedly so. Monoblogues on the other hand is more like the daily editorial post for one maybe two subjects. Once you read it that's it for the day, unless you are referncing something.
Why are you stirring this up, Joe? Does this really matter? I read every update Michael puts up, and I LIKE the fact that he is so thorough. Being too verbose isn't always a bad thing. Hell, at least the man can spell, and writes intelligent, well thought out posts.
This "my blog gets more hits than your blog" pissing match is just plain silly.

While I agree with what you've said, Michael gave off the impression his hits were in the thousands and growing all the time.
No matter what anyone says, 82 hits a day on AVERAGE has got to be one of the saddest things I have ever seen, seriously.
Most of the hits he got yesterday, (for example) were Google hits. Visitors who had actually gone to Google and typed in "White House Christmas Cards" and Michael's Site was one of the ones that came up. At some point he must have done an article on those Christmas Cards.
Nevertheless, the beef I have had with Michael over the past two years is how Blognetnews ranks their top political influential Blogger. Now that I know he's at 82 hits per day, I'm absolutely convinced Blognetnews is a joke and NO ONE can deny that now.
Without Google Michael wouldn't have but 50 hits aday or so. I'm glad Michael enjoys doing what he does and while he personally feels his Blog is successful, (I can't argue his personal feelings) NONE OF YOU would be seeing sbynews.com if it didn't reach many thousands per day.
Oh, the part about Michael opening his Site Meter for everyone to see, BS! He made a mistake the last time he was on there and opened it up by accident. As for me showing my numbers every day, it's not going to happen. People don't chalenge me much on that because there are ways to go to other stat companies and get a decent read on how well we do. Those people who know how to do so keep their mouths shut because they know we're one of the top Blog Sites in the entire State and there are some pretty big Sites in Washington and so forth.
Anyhow, that doesn't matter. Michael has an interesting Site at times but like someone else said, getting past the first paragraph is very difficult most of the time.

You're missing the point. Michael boasts about his "influence." He has NO influence, especialy when he AVERAGES only 82 hits per day.
Michael also writes and contributes for many Anti Albero Blogs that call my Wife a whore, my Grandson a bastard and my In Laws all sorts of names while the man served in many wars as a proud Marine.
Michael quite frankly can kiss my ass the more I think about it. He was recently asked to remove his name from those other Blogs and he did not do so. My Wife has always treated Michael like a Brother nand he cannot deny that.
I will laugh every time I see his Site even in the top 20 on Blognetnews. Obviously by linking to other Blogs his ratings go up. Check Mate.

Michael has been blogging for a good three years. He's so desperate, (obviously) that he's contributing to Anti Albero Blogs where they treat my Wife and Family very poorly.
Maybe one day he'll come to realize that my Wife, Grandson and In Laws never did anything to him and he'll cut his ties with such horrible people.
In the meant time, we have asked him to stop posting there but he has never listened and continues to keep his name on their contributor list. I'm sure it's to put up posts to link back to his Blog creating a higher rating on Blognetnews. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter if you're the guy robbing the Bank or driving the get away car, he's guilty and he has truly upset and disappointed my Wife.

Other Bloggers also asked Michael to stop posting articles there or he would become a target in the near future.
The near future is here. Michael is a loner and whenever anyone gives him any attention he soaks it up like a dry sponge. The moment the Anti Albero Bloggers stood by his side and gave him any attention, Michael loved it. He wanted all 5 or 10 people to come to his site and from the looks of it, who can blame him. However, I can assure you, his posts are so over their heads they can't get past the first sentence.
As long as his name is on any one of those Blogs, this household/blog will have nothing to do with Michael ever again. I was VERY disappointed to see his numbers and quite frankly, even Bill Duval blew away Michaels Blog.
I'll bet those Anti Albero Bloggers would LOVE his kind of numbers though. LOL
Sometimes things are better left unsaid. However, who would have ever known his numbers were so low unless you brought that out. I also wasn't aware he participated with those other nasty bloggers. I saw some of the comments about your wife and grandson a long time ago and never returned. I for one will not return to his blog now that I know he's associated with them. Not that I would be considered a regular or daily follower.
I'm a regular on Blognetnews and that is how I found this blog. I never did quite understand how that influential thing worked but now I'm really confused. Didn't this guy get on Rush one time and bragged about getting tons of traffic. If he's the same guy, it's a shame he couldn't retain those visitors. Your blog is far more entertaining.
You can't say Michael doesn't try. What interested me most was how he would impress upon others how he was after a much larger audience than just Salisbury. You would think that after three years or so he'd have thousands of daily visitors. If "I" didn't have so many thousands of people visiting every day I would have given this thing up a long time ago. Again, this is what I mean by that influential thing with Blognetnews. I don't need them to tell me I'm influential, I know it by the amount of hits I get per day.
I'll add. The Mayor, Chief of Police and many others know the impact this Blog has on our community. They cannot deny the power of Salisbury News. By power I mean the Citizens are now very aware of what's truly going on locally. All they had in the past was the Daily Times and we all know how full of crap their articles are. Let's not forget ALL of the articles they never wrote, keeping the Citizens unaware of what was really going on.
Wait till Monday comes along and everyone sees the articles we produce. Once again, investigative reporting and results like you just won't believe. I've been dying to put up the articles today but we have far more visitors on Monday and I want this to impact Barrie Tilghman and Gary Comegys like there's no tomorrow.
Anyhow, influential, (to me anyway) means when you do this you're actually making a difference. 82 people a day just won't cut it. 30 of those people were Google Searches so he's lucky if he gets 50 hits a day. I don't believe you're going to change an election with 50 people visiting regularly. Then you have to keep in mind that he does more State and National news/opinion on his Site and his influence gets even smaller because now we're talking about the entire State and or Country. One person per State, per day, Blognetnews realy needs to look into their system and come up with a new way of rating people.
At least now when he gets a #1 or #2 spot on Blognetnews we'll know it's complete BS.

I can read the NYT, Washington Post or Washington Times to find informative, in depth articles.
The latter is what matters.

Like I said in the past, WE had always treated Michael like Family. When my Wife saw all the nasty coments about her she tok it upon herself to call Michael.
I have never had an issue talking one on one with Michael. We always considered him a gentleman until he started posting on the Anti Albero Blogs.

Your spending time promoting their site. If it didn't matter we wouldn't be reading about it here.
No, I just called him out on what he has told me and others in the past and the Site Meter numbers are proof of such.
His Blog does serve a purpose and to 50 people a day, it's their cup of coffee every day.
All I'm saying is, if I couldn't make a difference and my Site wasn't growing day by day, week, by week, month by month and even year by year I would have called it quits long ago.
That being said, I tip my hat to Michael for sticking with it.

I most definately do what I do because I enjoy it. I enjoy meeting al of the people that I do on a daily basis. I enjoy exposing information no one else can do for various reasons but mainly because of the retaliation of the Mayor and Chief of Police.
However, if no one cared, if I didn't have the volume of people coming here every day I wouldn't be doing it.
