Of course I have paved roads and police protection. People in the town limits have city water and sewer as well. Thanks for cracking me up.

I should add, we know all of our Police Officers by name.

I wouldn't hire Charles Jannace.

I live right down the road on Rt 54 but my house is in Maryland and I pay 2400.00 year on .6 of an acre I have to pay for my trash, my septic etc just like Joe, but my property would not assess for 1/3 of Mr. Albero property! This is what happens when you live in a one party state.

Yeah Joe, You might have low taxes but do you have.....
crack dealers nearby?
sleezebag city politicians?
thugs mugging?
"professional" women?
murders?
lots of break-ins?

I didn't think so!
Sincerely, your friend

sorry, can't help myself...lmao
I bet he even has an inside bathroom, electricity and phone service! As far as the on and on bit, I'll wager to say he has a vehicle also and that the pic of the horse is just that, a horse. No buggy needed to get into town...
roflmao here..Sorry Mr. Joe...I had to respond to that 2:59 post

Not everybody wants public sewer and water. I certainly don't. My well and septic work very well and I have better water than the in-town residents do. Mine doesn't have an after taste.
I'm with you Joe, life is good in Delmar!

Joe, if you are on here a 6;15pm there is a multivehicle accident on the Vienna Bridge involving an MSP vehicle and numerous others. Four ambulances and a rescue requested from Wicomico and don't know what from Dorchester.

joe albero said...

Yes, I'm here and I heard about it. However, even though the Bridge is only a few miles from our home, there's no point in my heading out there and cause any more traffic on the roads than necessary. I hear WBOC is sending out their Chopper.

Chopper 16 can't go there, Capt. Willy said he can't get fuel this time of night.

You missed the 6:00 News then because they were there.

I got 7.6 acres for $1100/year in MD. Looks like I win.

Speaking of lawyers I thought you said in one of your previous post that you were going to sue the city if they put newer furniture in the new fire house. Have you started the process yet. A few of them were at WAWA talking about new leather recliners that they now have.

Joe:

I say we form a coalition of citizens and then send emissaries to Georgetown to support a succession away from Maryland.

Then we might reap some of the benefits of not having run-a-way taxes.

If things are so great in DE., why don't you stay there & mind your own business.

I an sure that the people of Salisbury would appreciate it.

There are not enough benefits from living within the city limits of SBy to justify the additional layer of property taxes.

We live in Wicomico county, just a short distance from the DE line, and pay $2500/yr. If our house was less than 1/2 mile north in Sussex County, our taxes would be less than $1,000. What do we get that we wouldn't get in DE?
Good question. We don't have an answer, either.

Part of living in America means paying property taxes. We're great with that. IT would just be nice to see something, anything, that we get for our money. It's not the roads (many of them around us need work), no paid firefighters will come if our house catches fire, no paid paramedics if we call an ambulance. All vollies.
It was our mistake, attemtping to get our children into the Delmar School District (which is incredible!) not looking harder on the DE side.

All right guys. Drop trou, I'll get a ruler, and we settle this thing once and for all!

I was told there were 10 brand new leather recliners in their lounge. What happened to the brand new leather sofas that were in the lounge? Does anyone know these answers and how much it cost the tax payers? Joe this might be the start of another story for you.

It's probably John Robinson, not the Mayor. I've bee fielding tons of coments ever since the Robinson Post yesterday. It's part of my punishment for saying anything about John. He does love the anonymous button but he can't fool me.

Hi 7:41,
You contradict yourself by indicating that you pay 2500 for little in return, however, you moved into the Delmar, Md. side for the school system which, in your words..."is incredible". You are also misinformed that you won't get paid medics if the need arises.
Delmar Fire Department is staffed with paid EMS personnel around the clock. There is always a team on duty housed at the DFD, a Paramedic on duty along with an EMT.
In addition the volunteers are exceptional and though they give their time to their community at no charge there is ongoing training, equipment and upkeep costs.
Just making you aware as I think Delmar has a lot to be proud of as our fire department and schools are outstanding for a town our size.
