On October 28, 2008, members of the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force "WCNTF" in conjunction with other local la enforcement agencies initiated a buy/bust operation in the Salisbury area. Members of WINTF received information that two suspects identified as John Kennedy and Violitus Scott were knows to sell large quantities of Heroin throughout the Wicomico County area. Based on this information, contact was made with John Kennedy to meet at a mutual location and exchange an amount of U.S. currency for Heroin. Law enforcement set up surveillance in the parking lot at the Centre at Salisbury. Once at that location, officers observed Kennedy, Scott and a third individual, who was identified as Maurice Fiddmon, arrive in two separate vehicles. The three suspects were then monitored as they provided an undercover officer with suspected Heroin in exchange for marked U.S. currency. The three subjects were subsequently followed out of the parking lot at which point two traffic stops occurred. The first vehicle was stopped on the S/B ramp at Rt. 50 and Rt. 13 Bypass. Both Maurice Fiddiemon and Violitus Scott were located within that vehicle. During a search of each subject, officers recovered marked U.S. currency that had been provided during the transaction with the undercover officer. The second stop occurred on thye Rt. 13 Bypass at the Rt. 50 exit. The vehicle was being operated by John Kennedy. A search of Kennedy recovered a suspect amount of Heroin and $3,973.00 in U.S. currency. A subsequent consent search was conducted at Scott's home which resulted in $35,030.00 being seized.

The Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force is comprised of members from the Maryland State Police, Wiucomico County Sheriff's Department and the Salisbury Police Department and was instituted to deter the growing drug problem in Wicomico County, Maryland. During execution of these warrants, the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, Wicomico County Bureau of Investigations, WCBI-NS and the Salisbury City Police Department.

Finally something is being done in this area to finally clean it up! I'm tired of not being able to feel safe not even driving down Rt 13 or 50 at night!
Congrats, but is that a "major" bust? That's only about $2600 worth of hereion.

Mike Lewis #1 sheriff in the country hands down. How many bust does this make since he has been our sheriff. What was the previous sheriffs name? I honestly can't recall, but we wil remember Lewis for ever. Keep up the great work sheriff.
it may be considered a small bust by some however can lead to major suppliers and further arrests up the chain. trust me, this aint over yet by any means. Way to go to all of the detectives, deputies and officers who made this possible and are working day and night to clean this trash up.
Lets hope they don't get the same judge that sentenced Kenneth Townsend to 1 and a half years for helping steal $500,000 from the Wicomico County landfill !!
I believe I read that Brett Wilson is the one who basically let Kenneth Townsend off the hook. So yes you are right, these guys will just walk if they are lucky to get him. From what I understand, he is a Judge over in Dorchester County but also sits in on cases right here in Wicomico County - so there you go!

The first comment sums it up-not to be critical because they( task force) do a good job but its about time they went after the big boys and got some real dangerous drugs off the street.Unfortunately there is probably someone ready to step in and take these guys place as we speak.The trade never goes away the guys in charge of the rackets just do.....

We should just give it away for free and let the scourge of society smoke and snort theirselves to death. Just another death of a non working, non productive non taxpayer that is a leach to society. Take the profit out of it, murder rates will drop and accidental suicides will rise and nobody will care.
It is a pity that our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line everytime they pull over or raid the homes of people like this.
Show's how much judges and commissioners care about law enforcement personel. Liberal judges are a plenty here and we need to vote them all out at every opportunity for our own safety.
From College Avenue all the way to Carroll Street has become the new drug haven, many ways in and many ways out of this area, back alley's, side roads. If I saw two drug dealers shooting each other I think I'd wait for their last breath until I call 911
