When you're driving north on Rt 13 from Fruitland you'll see this new Billboard for the Main Street Gym. As I mentioned last night, a Fundraiser for the new Main Street Gym is under way and the block of tickets I had been responsible for has already been sold. I do expect to get my hands on more, (for those of you reading this Blog) should you want to attend. However, seriously Folks, you must come in to get your tickets as soon as possible because they're selling out fast. I'm going to check and see if they can actually enlarge the event to hold more people and I'll get back to you later today on that.
In the mean time, if you'd like to show your support for this fantastic Non Profit Facility, get on board and buy a ticket or two and enjoy a night out at Chef Fred's on Saturday September, 13 from 8 PM to Midnight. There will be a silent auction at the event as well.
I can't close this Post without thanking Hal Chernoff for ALL that he has done for this Community and the kids. Fernando Guerrero has shed so much light on this facility but in all reality it's the kids that make it what it is by showing interest and without Hal Chernoff, none of this would be a reality. Their new facility on Northwood Drive is just unbelievable and with your support this new Gym will open sooner than later.
I'll have a Post up later showing you the building that is already built and simply in need of final touches. This event will help close the rest of the deal to make that happen and we thank you for your support.

Joe,I think it is important to say that I am not alone in our mission of helping kids. In fact I could not have done it at all without a solid Board of director that has been behind the program since the beginning when no one heard of us. On top of that is the support of all the people that have helped in so many ways through the years, like those helped in upgrading the old gym and now the new facility, the people that have jumped in to help with fund raiser like Realtors in the Ring, The Main St Golf Tournament, The Main St Benefit Basket Bingo, and now WMDT's event at Chef Fred's. Main St gym is truly a team effort and our team continues to grow thanks to exposure like we get in this community. Soon the people that do so much behind the scenes will be pushed into the spotlight they choose to avoid and people will truly understand that what make the program great is the people that surround the program. Without them, I would be just a guy with an idea, and lthough it is nice to be recognized for our work, it is humbling when compared to young men like the soldier Brian Mason that just returned home from war safe and sound, thank God.
