Some of you may remember him but he passed away before many of you were born. Red Skelton was a good & funny man. He also ended every show by saying, 'GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS.' Listen to the end of this. It is something he said 39 years ago.
Very important that you listen to the very end! Eerie! Take a moment and listen to it (from 1969). How would he have known that this is what is happening?

Joe - I remember seeing this on his show back when I was small and it made a great impact on me then. A few years later in school, we students were given a print out of his speech. I may even still have my copy. As time as gone on, I have often thought about Red Skelton and his definition of the pledge. I had forgotten his last line about taking the pledge out of the schools. What a shame that it was done. Thank you for refreshing my mind and reminding me of such a great man.
It seems to me that those before our latest "me" generation were fortunate enough to have foresight and wisdom seldom seen today. I am glad to have at least lived my childhood in that era. Todays socialist society makes me ill!!!
I remember the show when he did the pledge. I am so glad that I was raised in a time when we all believed in our country and our flag.
But you have to remember, we are the ones that failed our children. We didn't instill that same dedication to family, country and flag that we had.
We tried to make thing better for our kids. I wish I could do it over!!!
Good Night And "May" God Bless
Freddy the Freeloader and Gertude and Heathcliff, oh shit showin' my age here.
