Quote of the Day...Read, Digest, Repeat...It's Deep

"Philosophy should always know that indifference is a militant thing. It batters down the walls of cities and murders the women and children amid the flames and the purloining of altar vessels. When it goes away it leaves smoking ruins, where lie citizens bayonetted through the throat. It is not a children's pastime like mere highway robbery." : Stephen Crane

You have just described what has happened in the city of Salisbury. Thanks for this quote. And thanks, mare, for being the bayonet.

From the Gulag Archepelago by Solzhenitsyn:

Every man has handy a set of glib excuses as to why he is right not to sacrifice himself.

Every single thing in our lives changes. Only our morals and ethics can serve as a constand or a compass pointing us in the right direction. It is when we are at our worst that we must not trust emotions or the self serving solutuins to guide us. Like the pilot in a storm. We must always trust our Moral compass.
