While this homeowner went to sleep last night a fire broke out in his home and the smoke detectors he claimed are inside didn't go off. He was lucky enough to wake up from the smell of the smoke and get out of the home. In the mean time his neighbor happened to be outside and noticed the flames/glow coming from one of the back windows and then the glass shattered and burst, that's when he called 911. The neighbor grabbed the garden hose and actually started extinguishing the fire from the broken window area.
Several Fire Departments arrived and contained the fire. However, the Firemen on the roof of this home had one hell of a time attempting to cut a hole in the roof, probably took more than 30 minutes to get one hole. It might be time for a new Saw Blade?

Saw blade was fine. You probably did not cut very many roof vent holes during your training in Powellville but with older houses/structures as this one we find multiple roofs from over many years. Even though there are standards in the construction business about the number of roofs you can slap on top of one another, that hardly gets followed when the homeowner does it himself. So the multiple shingles & having the original wood shake shingles under it all caused the vent hole to take a little longer than you expected it to take. Fire Departments being able to do their job quickly & effiecntly have to go hand in hand with homeowners doing renovations to their buildings/homes following rules, codes, & standards.
