Breaking Gas News

I just received a call from one of our Contributors to Salisbury News telling me they were on Cypress Street at the old Super Soda buying gas for $3.82 a gallon. They mentioned that Gordy is selling the same gas for $3.99! $ .17 cents a gallon less, just around the corner.

They're selling Diesel Gas for $4.59 a gallon. Keep in mind, these are cash prices. If you use your credit card, add $ .10 cents a gallon. If you have a City Credit Card it's the same as cash. I was just told it's only $ .05 cents more per gallon for regular gas if you use a credit card.

The Dash In on route 50 in Willards is selling for $3.86 a gallon cash and credit. They have reduced prices every Thursday.

I stopped by this place on Cypress St right after I read this. It's being remodeled and under new ownership according to the girls working there. The gas is CITGO and yesterday it was $3.79 cash or Citgo credit card. Today it's up 3cents, still not bad considering Tiger Mart Exxon is $3.99. The Exxon on College Ave & Rt 13 is $3.91. Why is that, they are the same gas as Tiger Mart?

I'll go to Cypress St as long as they remain this far under everyone elses price. It's not out of my way, just a small turn off the beaten path.

Yep, Gordo's Gas is $3.99. Saw it with my own eyes today.

Why should he care, the city furnishes his fat @ss with a car and all the gas he can burn.

Buying Citgo gas puts money in Hugo Chavez' pocket. Do you really want to do that?

anonymous 6:16, STFU!

It is against credit card acceptance rules to charge more for using a card versus cash. That is why that nonsense went away a long time ago. I am surprised someone has not reported them to Visa & Mastercard. They are in clear violation of their acceptance agreement.

Some stations sell unbranded gas which usually is lower in price.
No one has mentioned that WaWa's price is almost always the same as Gordy!

Anyone ever wonder if Gordo gets a kickback from Wawa for conspiring to keep the gas same price? Support the small guy at Shell station, $3.86 today vs. $3.99, sure some days maybe a cent or two more, but at least you're not supporting the fat cat.

6:16 - don't want to support Chavez, but you'll fill up with persian gas so that Abu Dahbi can buy up more of New York? At least but Valero since American owned, that way they can compete with Dupont to see who can pollute Delaware faster.

I'd buy American gas if they weren't shipping every drop of oil run down the Alaskan pipeline to foreign countries.

As far as the Alaskan Pipeline is concerned we have to give 50% of all oil from that to Japan- it was an agreement with them because they financed HALF of it with us when it was built! We can't change that now!

Joe,

I wish you hadn't posted this. I was trying to keep it a secret. Now the lines at the Super Soda's that were taken over by Universal more the two months ago will be longer.

Anon 929 if half of that oil is going to Japan where is the other half going? Certainly not here.

If Gordo is 17 cents a gallon higher than Citgo and 15 cents a gallon higher than Valero on Pemberton & Parsons could this be considered GOUGING?

How about the foreigners on Old Ocean City Road at $4.05 a gallon, is he GOUGING?

Most gas all comes from the same refinery. A few additives are the only difference in the different gas company names.
