Salisbury News Exclusive
Sunday was a very special day at the Salisbury Zoo. Zookeepers walked into the Red Wolf Exhibit and saw a bundle of 5 new pups lying there snuggling together in a small ball.
The Zoo Staff has contacted representatives from the Red Wolf Recovery Project in Alligator River National Refuge, N.C. with the possibility of reintroducing some of the pups back into the wild. This is done by placing them in a fostering situation with another new wolf mother in the wild in hopes she will take care of them.
With a new Zoo Director comes new hope for the Salisbury Zoo. For more information on these animals and or a sponsorship at the Zoo, (it used to only cost $25.00 a year to sponsor an animal for the year) contact Mary Seemann or Joel Hamilton at 410-548-3188.

When I first saw the picture before reading the story, I immediately thought, "oh someone's Shepherd had puppies! I want one!" Darn. Oh well, Red Wolves are nice too.
What cute little guys! It's hard to believe that they'll become vicious predators someday.
Mother Nature at work!
I knew that you would get pics of the new pups. I did not expect them so soon after the birth. Please keep us updated.
Great pix. I guess that exhibit was well worth the wait. Let's hope it's a new beginning for the Zoo and the new director. He's off to a good start with this event. Congrad's to the Zoo.
They are simply too cute!!!In the one shot-you can see the pads on the bottom of their tiny little paws-its so cute!!!Thanks for sharing!
BTW,how big do they get?
Anon 205, I recently heard someone say the same thing about a new born child at PRMC.
