Hold The Presses!

Yes, the GOB, Courthouse and several businesses have closed their doors Downtown but it wasn't exactly what we thought it was. It turns out it was not the same water main that broke. Public Works was working, (so I'm told by them) on opening a valve and they dug too deep with the backhoe and punctured a main line. In this case, (so they claim) it was human error. I tried getting in touch with the GOB to see if any meetings were going to be held tonight and there was no answer at 12:05 PM. I'll dig into that some more.

I know...I work downtown and they came in to say that the water was being turned off at approx. 11:15 am and would be back on sometime in the afternoon. This sucks, not having a bathroom to use or water to wash my hands with!!

Nancy, Why didn't you all shut down for business like the GOB and the Courthouse did?

Oh, my bad, you all might not have been government workers??

If Public Works did the damage, this isn't good especially if, as Mr. Caldwell, said at the worksession this week that they may do the replacing of the old piping in-house at Public Works to save money......

The county has to shut down because the city can't provide services? Well by-golly. Who would have thunk it? LoL They want the county to give them some more money they can blow.

Maybe the city should pay for the county payroll because due to the city failing to provide services, the county can't operate and had to send employees home?

Hell the county GOB will move out of Salisbury next.

Ten years now the city let all this fall into disrepair and our future tax dollars have been given away to developers.

They got a good case of citizen attitude last night and it didn't cost a cent.

Would this be why we hardly had any water pressure this morning?
