Where Does The Recall Petition Drive Stand?

I met with Jordan Reisman last week and discussed the Recall Petition Drive against the Mayor, Louise Smith and Gary Comegys. Quite frankly, I didn't feel comfortable that I was being told the truth.

When I asked how things were going, Jordan replied, well, I have about 1/2 the signatures against Louise Smith. When I again asked about the Mayor and Comegys he said, well, I thought I'd go after Louise, do you think I should still go after the Mayor?

At that point I felt uncomfortable in believing he actually has a strong signature count against anyone, so I let it be. I have been alerted that WMDT had a story with a quote from that Mayor stating, "The Mayor has said, if there's any corruption in her administration, she'll sign the petition herself."

All that being said, believe what you want.I personally do not believe their drive is as strong as Jordan wants to make it sound. Time will tell.

I'm upset about the recall , I
thought the mayor was to be first in line! Just goes to show ya,
send a boy to do a mans job. Sorry
but I can't stand someone who starts something and doesn't
finish it!

Her name should be the first one on the petition of that's the case. IF is a mighty big word Barrie, you know damned well your administration is as crooked as the day is long.

Hey Joe,

How about re-posting the memo where Insley was cited for his overgrown lawns on his rentals, and Tilghman instructed her minions to ignore it? Post that and then send Jordan down to get her signature at the city council meeting--that would be pretty hilarious!

Well that does it all in for us folks. I would solicit signatures myself, if I could(physical problems), but am very disapointed that this boy is not following through on his promsises. Guess we'll just have to wait for the elections next year.

I can't say I'm too surprised.. seems to me that this kid just wanted to get his name in the paper and prove to his friends that he wasn't going to take the noise complaint he got. It's a shame he didn't have the ambition to actually follow through.. just another college kid making alot of noise

the least you could do is throw out those 3 crooked council ppl. So sad...you folks just watch her tear your city apart and abuse the charter....and think someone will take care of it. You should atleast thank that boy for try'n!!!
You knew he couldnt do it on his own, but you sit there and do NOTHING to help...shame on you!

He's probably been threatened by someone just like the residents of Village of Tony Tank Creek. NOBODY can get through this GOOD OLD BOY way of life down here. Its protect the bad, throw away the good!

The good ole boy network again heh?
Is Dubya, and Chain-ee part of a larger 'good ole boy network'? Are all of the good ole boy networks . . . networked? What would we call it then?

Good ole boy network just doesn't seem to suffice.

How about crime syndicate?

Ah he's just a kid, he doesn't meet the size limit, he's not a keeper, throw him back.

That's just what this adminisratation would like us to do, distract the citizens who are out getting signatures instead of keeping an eye on shady deals and tax money give-a-ways to FOB's.

I'm surprised that any of you thought this college kid had anything other than a lot of BS and a desire for public attention going for him in the first place

When college students get involved in local politics, there's usually a scumlord behind them.

That's why I took a wait and see with the kid.

He got half the signatures he needed for Louise? Didn't see him at my door.

Glad we didn't take our eye off the GOB and pay attention to the recall. If it weren't for Cohen and Campbell tonight, we'd be sucking down our surplus like soda through a straw!

They had a council session in a building without water. No drinking water, no toilet facilities and no fire sprinkler protection. This further proves that the administration and council majority doesn't have public safety on their minds at all.
