With all due respect to you Joe, do you think people go into media in a market like Salisbury to hang around forever? If you don't use the Daily Times or WBOC or the local radio stations to get your experience and find a way to the next level, what are you doing staying in it?
Kinda like how a kid out of tech school will go work for a dealer as a mechanic or apprentice, learn how to be a mechanic, then go to a private shop and make good flat rate.
James Fischer is an editor for the Worcester County Times... So that is a push i guess...
You missed the best of the bunch, Diane Freda, who left about 5 or so years ago and now is in the DC area -- a recent IRS expose by her is quoted below.
She was a deadeye when it came to seeing the real Barrie Tilghman, but was usually "corrected" by the "editors" at the Daily Slime.
"according to Diane Freda at Daily Tax Report (emphasis added):
The total cost of publicizing taxpayer eligibility for economic stimulus rebates and processing the checks themselves will be around $200 million, Internal Revenue Service officials said March 27, but they continued to defend their outreach efforts, saying they want to do the right thing by taxpayers and they see it as an opportunity to promote a better image for the IRS."
Don't forget Dan Kulin...wrote in 1997 or so...
NEED TO DO SOME ROTATION WITH OUR LOCAL TV STAION PERSONNEL.
They rotated Kelly Rouse over to WBOC after a very long stint at WMDT.
Joe G. sent an e-mail about 3 weeks ago in reference to a post I made about the Wicomico Humane Society. I responded but never heard back. I hope the story doesn't get lost...you should pick it up Joe.

I remember David Anderson and Anita Ferguson; there was a younger guy from New York named Steve a few years ago, too, although his last name escapes me. Some may move on to bigger markets, but most just end up frustrated by the Gannett Machine. In Gannett's defense, however, most of the other area papers aren't much better to their employees; most tend to use their reporters to spew the editor's opinions like vomit and will twist a story to suit their own agenda no matter how objectively it is written.
You forgot Tom Leonard and Carolyn Stegman.
John Bozman was the best--the H.L. Mencken of the Eastern Shore. He not only had a sense of humor, he also had the "balls" to write what he believed no matter which politician or fat cat's butt he was kicking. There's not a one in the media today who comes close.
