Update On OC Murder
There was a heated "discussion" with the local yardman Sunday about how much money he was to be paid for his services on her yard. He confessed last night to the murder. I also found out from a friend of Ms. Parker that she was very nice, but also very hot headed. She was also not American....Asian I was told.

As a West OC resident who lives in a subdivision about 1 mile from Mystic Harbor, this comes as a shock but there is a very slight bit a relief that it was not a random theft that turned into a homicide and that West OC isn't crawling with random violence.

Evidently nothing, because she didn't get killed for being Asian so wtf does it matter?

I knew Dea Parker. She was as American as you claim to be. She was a great person and it was my privilege to know her.
...those words posted were NOT joe's words. I send them to him. I called him last night to have him post the first post, since no other outlets had notified locals. Joe told me to keep him notifed with updates, which I have done since my first call to him last night. I was NOT making racial slurs or trying to imply this was a murder due to race. I was speaking with one of my family members over lunch today. She told me that Ms. Parker was a bartender for Atlantic Hotel for years, and she knew her very well and knew her personality well. No one said she was not loved. No one said she was murdered because she was Asian. Read the post for what it's worth or go read your Daily Disappointment.

Yes, newspapers and TV stations do report the race of those involved in cases such as this one. I think the point is that someone can be Mexican or Hispanic or Asian and be an American, also. So the comment, "she was not an American either," is probably not accurate.
you are right. the tv and newspapers do tell you what race they are but they don't tell you that it doesn't make them non-american. You do your blog the way you want and I read it the way I want. If you don't like it, stop writing it!

Regarding your 4:38 response, you usually don't like how The Daily Times does their news, but you continue to buy the paper, read it, and criticize it. Why do you chastise your readers for doing the same thing that you do?

Dea Parker was as American as she could be and one of the nicest people I ever had the opportunity to meet. She would take the shirt off of her back to help a friend. The bull he saying about her refusing to sign a check he gave her has got to be a crock. If he nicely asked her to sign a check she had forgotten to sign she would have signed it.

But delmarvanow.com identifies her as, "Cecilia Dea Parker, 56".
Who was it, Cecilia Dea Parker or A Joan Parker?
I do hope the police are looking for the "unsigned" check. This whole story sounds very odd.
FYI she wasn't Asian, she was an American. She also was not a "hot head". What about the ***hole that murdered her, was he American? Was he even here legally? Should she have been murdered because she was a "hot head" anyway? Why don't they stay where they belong and kill each other instead of coming here and killing our people!
Instead of nitpicking about dumb sh*t,why don't we get mad over the fact that the guy who took her life had NO damn business being in this country??????Lets get mad at the employers who get rich and fat off of employing these illegals!

You are exactly right! If businesses received huge fines or suspended licenses or whatever, some of this crap would stop. Businessmen get the advantage of cheap labor, and the rest of us pay for the social services illegal aliens are using.

I guess you have seen the news. I can not believe this has happened. I thought we lived in “God’s Country”.
Trust me, Dea would have never told someone to go to her back door. She would never go to her bedroom for a pen. She had a mini office in her kitchen, why would she turn around in the first place? I know Dea would have argued if the guy changed the price of the work. She would always ask (how much?) first. She was a generous person but she did watch her spending. What I don’t understand is why she had yard work done; she always took care of her own yard, unless she wanted a tree planted or something done different. She would even power wash her house herself.
It would be like her to try and help someone in need of work. I don’t understand what happened but I know better than what this guy said.
If she forgot to sign the check, it could have waited to the next morning. Something is wrong with this guy’s story. When I read she told him to go to the back door that was bull ****…I know better. She lived by herself most of the last 10 years, and she knew how to protect herself from strangers…she was not stupid. She must have trusted the family…go figure…she might have felt sorry for them too, she was that way.
Dea was part of my family once and I considered her my good friend. This is so unfair***please pray for justice
I guess he did more than mow the lawn. Grass cutting is included in Mystic Harbor's HOA fee.
