More Pipes Planned To Run Off Into The River?

There is allegedly another outfall pipe scheduled for dumping, right into the north prong. It is supposed to run down William St, onto Park Ave then to Isabella and into the river. How can this Mayor have a visioning committee meeting while planning another overflow pipe of unfiltered/treated storm water? The old pipe is located at the NE corner of the north prong.

When is the next Mayoral election, and who is considering running?
This seems to be a consideration of UTMOST importance. Should we start a "war chest"?

This isn't new. There is already a pipe there that isn't properly sized, thus flooding business route 13. You will have to pond all of the city, county and state stormwater if you want to treat all runoff. How do you do that, and how do you afford that? I think we'd all like to have that done, but at what cost and to what benefit?

If we weren't spending so much on legal fees maybe some of these smaller issues could be addressed.
$2,200 recently billed for an answer to a simple question might have funded a few feet of new pipe.

What else do you expect? It is EARTH Day after all.

Funding the public works department instead of throwing money at Police and Fire everytime they want it might not be a bad idea either. Public works maintains this city yet gets paid the least. Read the budget you will see what I am saying here.

Will this pipe also be installed without proper filtration? Will the needles and condoms be floating up and down the north prong as they are on Carrol St?

Lets drain it into Johnsons Pond so Barrie and Gary can enjoy the floatables. We wouldn't want to deny them the same benefits bestowed upon the pesantry.

Pretty vague statement there Joe. How about all the new development on th SU campus? I dont see any ponds there, unless you count Tony Tank Pond. Besides, I'd be more worried about untreated sewage than stormwater.

Joe:

So what does the MDE, the DNR, the EPA and the FBI say about that -- have you asked any of them?

Use Ajax, the faoming cleanser, it

floats the dirt right down the drain

PS --
you'll stop paying the elbow tax

when you start cleaning with Ajax.

No, but unfiltered stormwater will just contribute to the raw sewage in what is already a sick river. The city has that boat remember? Let them ride the river and scoop up floatables with a crab net. They may do it once just for a photo op.

Wake up Joe. Where have you been? The Mayor and her cronies have changed the name of the Wicomico River to the Wicomico Sewer as her contribution to celebrating Earth Day! I understand it is not considered indecent exposure if you want to stand on the Wicomico banks and urinate in the sewer. The Mayor will be able to brag that she has created the largest and longest sewer on the Atlantic coast.

Before the city spends a ton of money on architectural drawings and other studies for the north prong, the soil should be examined good for contamination. If that is true, how much will the cleanup cost?

That area has been the home of a lot of fuel loading and unloading. It's also been the home of a lot of natural and chemical fertilizer.
