Slidell, LA. 2005

While a very close friend of mine from Salisbury volunteered with the Red Cross during hurricane Katrina he took some incredible pictures during that time. This is one of them. It was taken in September of 2005.

JOE YOU WANT PICTURES FROM KATRINA YOU SHOULD CONTACT STATION 16. THEY SENT A CREW TO HELP SEARCH HOMES AND BUSINESSES FOR SURVIVORS.

Yeah without the permission of FEMA, the goverment agency that deploys teams to disasters. But they are Salisbuey Fire Department & historically they do not have to play by anyone elses rules. You got to admit, it was a good P.R. ploy. For those that are not aware, FEMA has to control movement of search & rescue/recovery teams for accountability, monetary payback of supplies used, & making sure no one "freelances" thus making a chaotic situation a little more controlled. ALL HAIL KING GORDY! From probationary firefighter to Deputy Chief in 1 year. If no is the answer, just throw money at it.

If fema had done its job after katrina in the first place there would have been a need to free lance. The people of slidel hadnt seen anyone for weeks until salisbury showed up. if you don't like it deal with it. at least someone got the job done. you all need to grow up and stop bitching.
