West Side Collector Road Under Way
As you can see, the first stage of the West Side Collector Road is under way just off Business Rt. 50 near the Westwood Commerce Park. The County expects the first phase to be completed by September or October of 2008.
The second phase will run from Levin Dashiell Road immediately after the first phase is complete and the construction money is already in place and that phase should be complete in 2009.
The third phase will then go to Crooked Oak Lane. The County has the money in place to pay for the two right of way's by two property owners and they expect to complete the entire roadway by 2010 or 2011.

Where exactly is the supposed to go, could you show a birds eye view on a map, and why are they putting it in?
It's great to learn that the County is staying on top of things like building collector roads.
Now, let's examine why the City still has not completed the last section of the East Side collector road, years after the county's portion was completed and opened to traffic!
They put in the new-fangled traffic light at Beaglin Park and Old Ocean City Roads, without sufficient traffic volume to justify it's cost.
Of course, that might change once the City gets its last section of the road built and open ....which will be when (Or did they spend the money elsewhere)?
The West Side Collector Road will start at Rt 50 across from Naylor Mill Road and run down right along side the dump through the woods and across the Davises field to Levin Dashiell road across another field to Crooked Oak Road. Now doesn't that make all you people in Nithsdale, West Nithsdale and all of those other McMansion neighborhoods happy, you won't have to deal with the daily drive of Pemberton Drive or the traffic on Nanticoke Road any longer. They'll just buy up farm land that used to grow your food so that you won't have to sit in traffic. I hope your McMansions came with enough land to grow enough food to sustain your families because at the rate you people are going there won't be one bit of land left to grow anything.
Enjoy the aroma of the landfill on your way home.
How fortunate for the nouvea riche SAPOA members , bankers and developers now, they won't have to ruin their day by actually seeing the city of Salisbury and how they are plundering the "housing stock" for profit.
No they won't see it but they'll sure smell the shit they created everytime they use that collector road.
I thought that was bubba comegees in that picture but the state employee isn't fat and is actually working!!!
joe is there any new developments on this road work. pictures or news.
That's funny you asked. I just had a conversation with Executive Pollitt last week as I took some pictures and mentioned it to him and he said now that I have reminded them they will re schedule a ribbon cutting asap.
I have search the internet and can find no maps of this project, What happen to the freedom of information??
Why are there not details of this project available on the city, county, Or states websites.... Come on, This is insulting.
