$2.5 million in engineering funds to dualize and widen the next phase of MD 404 from MD 309 to Cemetery Road;

$4 million to build a roundabout and sidewalks along the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Access Road providing students a safer route to the Princess Anne school;

$3 million to study expanding capacity along Nanticoke Road from US 50 to Rockawalkin Road in Salisbury;

$2 million to complete project planning to improve traffic flow and safety along Race Track Road from US 50 to MD 90 near Ocean Pines;

$1.6 million for drainage improvements to reduce flooding along US 13 and local roads in Salisbury

$7.3 million to upgrade rail lines on the Eastern Shore;

$5 million to upgrade railroad grade crossings on the Eastern Shore

"$18 million to dualize and widen the next phase of US 113 from Goody Hill Road to Massey Branch located south of Berlin in Worcester County;"

Regarding this, I spoke with one lady who lives directly on Rt. 113 along the section that is to be widened. The state is taking an extra 80 feet back from the road, OF HER PROPERTY, in order to complete this. Why? Because they want to build an access road. They already own a significant portion of her front yard, which would be enough to widen the highway. But, they have been ordered to put in an access road only about 15 feet from her pasture, where she raises horses. Somehow, I don't think the state or the federal gov't cared about her.

"$3 million to study expanding capacity along Nanticoke Road from US 50 to Rockawalkin Road in Salisbury;"

So, they are spending $3 million to "study" an expansion. Doesn't mean that they will. So, $3 million of taxpayer money could go to studying something that may never happen. I have driven up and down Nanticoke Road many times, and I do not feel that it needs to be widened. I may be wrong, but it seems fine the way it is.

These are just two more examples of O'Malley spending our money in ways that do not need to be. I'm sure the $3 million would really help out schools in this area, or maybe for emergency services...just a thought. He's been in less than a year and I'm already sick of him...if only there was a recall...

Of course the Gov is going to hand out a list of where lots of money is going to be spent in each local area.

How else will they be able to justify those recent tax increases?

I'd rather see those nasty tax increases rescinded instead of "Let's spend this on something else"

He also cut the Chesapeake Bay clean up of what? $50 million? Or was that Bush that did that?

I think I'm having and information overload, I need to defrag my brain and reboot!
