Goodfella's Opens In Pittsville

Goodfella's has finally opened their doors in Pittsville, adding a third restaurant for people to choose from in the small community.

I just learned of their opening this morning and I'll be the first to admit, I'm dying to try them out as there are very few good Italian Restaurants anywhere on the Eastern Shore.

Oh, some of you THINK their might be but trust me, there's NOT! The closest ANYONE comes to a New York Style Pizza is New York Pizzeria near Fruitland. MMMMMMM! That's some Good Stuff! Delmar Pizza also makes a good pizza but the "Best Deal" on a pizza is actually Sam's Club. You can get an extra large pizza fully loaded with everything for just over $8.00. Now, is it a good pizza? Nah, but it doesn't suck and it has NO GREASE!

Anyhow, I went to an Italian Restaurant in Rockville last night, IT SUCKED! Momma Lucia's, PLEASE! It should have said, we'll serve you fast, get you in and out faster than your wait for the food and stand over your table making you uncomfortable in order to get you out of there. The food came right out of a can and we probably spent close to $500.00 on dinner and if my Brother ever says he wants to go back, he's on his own.

So I'll make the trip to Pittsville as soon as possible in the HOPES someone got it right. How about you? Do YOU think there's a good Italian Restaurant in the area?

Sorry, great question. It's on Old Ocean City Rd and I believe it's Rt. 353. Right on the corner.

Your an idiot for spendng $500.00 on dinner. Talk about stupid people. You take the cake.LMFAO...dickweed

Without a question De Peitro's Pizza on Milford St in salisbury is a go as getting from the Bronx.

Anonymous said...

Ate there last night. Station 7's got nothing to fear. Trust me.

Agreed Goodfella's in Delmar sucks. It's a real dissapointment as good Italian delivery food would be great around here. Delmar Pizza stands alone as the only decent semi-Italian resturant around here.

There is no such thing as good italian delivery. You dont deliver pasta fagioli, you deliver subs and maybe pizzas. You don't deliver calimari, you deliver tomato pies. You don't deliver a full course italian dinner, you deliver subs.

You can't even get a decent stick of pepperoni around here how the hell are you going to get good italian cooking?

If you want great Italian, try "Little Italy" in Nassawadox, VA. Franco and family do a fantastic job. You can even eat in the Sinatra room. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Anonymous said...

You have to be kidding me! Little Italy in VA is horrible.

Anonymous said...

You all must never have gone to Fratelli's. Best Italian food in town. Hugh portions and great price. Highly recommend the Chicken Parm....

I like Adolfo's near the inlet in OC

Drive to Nassawddox VA to get a so-so Italian meal? Franco, is that you? Shame on you. $3 for a gallon of gas to ride all that distance for mediocre food is ridiculous. Might as eat Stouffers at Zias.

ROTFLMAO! Now THAT was funny! I have to also agree on a personal basis. I've eaten there twice and the second time was shame on me. Pretty amazing how many Italians are coming out of the wood work though. It's cool!

Vinny's la Roma is the best Italian restaurant in town.

joe albero said...

Hi Vinny! LOL

Anonymous said...

hope its better than station 7 !!with there kindergarden portions and overpriced menu!!! burger with one tablespoon of slaw = ten bucks fries are xtra maybe the good fella will run them outa town lol

Anonymous said...

ALPO taste better that this shit

Anonymous said...

I will give Vinny his props at La Roma. It's good. Not great but good. Adolpho's in OC does a nice job.

The rest are mediocre at best. Might as well Ragu at home or do the Stouffers. Eastern Shore Italian Imposters be ashamed!

Now if you want a good Italian meal over in Baltimore, go to Aldo's in Little Italy. Pricey, but damn, it's like Mama used to make!

wont last long, government in pittsville just like salisbury...they will end up running business out of town

OK....I just left the new Original Good Fella's in Pittsville. I met the owner, Tony. Tony is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. His restaurant is not affiliated with the Good Fella's in Delmar, but he is partners with the guy who owns the Good Fella's in Dagsboro, DE.

It's important to note that this is basically a sub and pizza joint that serves hot meals as well.

I ordered lasagna and my wife ordered baked stuffed shells.
Each entree was served with a small garden salad that included olives (green and black) but no croutons. The dressing was a bit limited, though, as I had to settle for french and I prefer thousand island.
They serve soft drinks only because they don't have a liquor license. I was welcomed to bring my own wine but I am of the opinion that it takes more than wine and good food to create the ambiance usually associated with a fine Italian dining experience.

The food was really good. My lasagna was cooked with gound beef AND Italian sausage. The sauce was very good and the portion was more than satisfying. My wife said that her baked stuffed shells were very good as well. I felt as though the lasagna was as good or better than that which I've had at Vinni's LaRoma or Fratelli's in Salisbury, but the atmosphere at Good Fella's is not nearly as warm and inviting as the other two. It took a little while to get our food but I wasn't surprised since it's all made fresh.

Now....the price. Our bill for both entrees including drinks was $19.00 and some change. The owner was very friendly and came out several times to see that we were well taken care of.

We will try their pizza this Friday. I've heard from several people that it's bangin'.

I will definitely go back from time to time, and we will probably order lunch and carryout quite a bit. I will, however, not opt to go there for a nice romantic dinner or to entertain out of town guests. I would have to say that we definitely needed Good Fella's in this area. I hope it's succesful.

I guess you don't know about Donnas italian cooking and I thought you and she were friends. She makes the best gravy I have eaten since I left NY. She even gets her cheese and meats from Philly, ask her to make you some Bracciole...mamma mia.

Anonymous said...

the BEST is on Milford st. across from the zoo.
De Peitro's... You have to wait in line to call in for carry out.
They're VERY busy, if that tells you anything.
And, you can buy "specialty" ingredients for your at home cooking, including pizza dough.

Well there are only 3 people from NY that have eaten pasta and bracciole at my house and Joe is not one of them but he is more than welcome. Thank you, whoever posted that comment, I take pride in my sauce and make it from fresh whole Roma tomatoes that I grow. I also only use Locatelli cheese which can be found at Super Giant now, it's $12.99 a lb but well worth the price. Paulie at the NY Pizzeria on Milford St. makes homemade sweet sausage and it is very good, could use a touch more fennel though and be ground a little finer other than that, it's good. Price is right at $5.99 a lb. I still can't find good stick pepperoni here so I do have to get it from Philly, the crap they have here is loaded with paprika and is fine for pizza but it's not good enough for my sauce so I don't use it. I only make sauce once sometimes twice a year but when I make it I make a 20 qt pot so there is plenty to freeze.

I also make my one gnocci and ravioli. Whoever heard of round ravioli? I grew up in a mostly Italian neighborhood where the women made their own macaroni and the men made the best dago red you'll ever put to your lips. It's good for cooking too. :)

So after reading all these comments I had to try Depietro's.

The service was great and the people very friendly.
I tried the pizza and found it bland. They use canned mushrooms also-not my favorite. Must say I was not impressed. It could be the italian dishes and sandwiches are better, maybe I'll try something else next time.
When it comes to pizza I think I'll stick with Pat's.

Anonymous said...

You gotta go with DiPietro's sausage pizza (I agree about the mushrooms--canned are nasty)! It is very tasty, as is the white pizza!

Final Frontier

Its a very good pizza place you can taste the quality its about time I was so sick of these other places giving me cheap cheese and sauce that taste like ketchup Finally a real pizza place I travel alot and this is one place I will always stop the pizza is out of this world.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it's a pizza place, that also sells subs and some standard American Italian menu items. I'd hardly call it an "Italian Restaurant."

But as a pizza place, it is one of the better ones. Their stromboli are enormous, and almost as good as Mione's in West Ocean City.

Anonymous said...

Im excited to try this new place out.. but so far I think the best place in Ocean City is Mioni's. If I went to Salisbury it would def. be Ponzetti's. I love their cheese steak! =] But I will post again after I get to try Good Fellas!

Anonymous said...

Delmar Pizza not bad, pretty good actually. You want NY? PLEASE go back and take your stupid obnoxious accent with you.

Goodfellas SUCKS! SOB needs to go back to wherever he came from. Wouldn't wish it on Obammy, well maybe, bastard would apologize perhaps.

Station 7, good food but GROSSLY overpriced

Adolpho's good but still hungry when I left, tourist trap.

Tim's in Salisbury = eatable, not special

China Fun in Salisbury, maybe the best food deal around

The old Holloways store, OK subs, shit pizza.

Texas Roadhouse, Top Pick!

Fratelli's, so so

Vinny's, a notch above Fratelli's.

Papa john's, best fast foot pizza

Domino's see Goodfellas
