I Just Don't Get It?
When you travel North or South on Rt. 13, some of the most congested areas are 50MPH? Yet you travel through these really small towns and they lower it to 35 MPH. Look at Pocomoke, Princess Anne and even north in Delaware where they lower the speed limit for all the wrong reasons, speed traps. Then I watch children crossing Rt. 13 in these areas, especially during Holiday Shopping Season and you have to wonder just who agreed to these speed limits?
This particular sign is smack dab in the median strip where if you're in the middle lane heading North, you're not going to see it anyway.

i don't get it either , i would argue that the speed limit should be lowered from where you have taken this photo to the university area on route 13. if the issue is safety there is certaintly more traffic in this area then in the speed trap areas you mention in DE.
Agreed. It scares the hell out of me when I have to drive up that way. Between the speed, lousy light placement, and the idiotic traffic pattern at the mall, it's an accident waiting to happen. I think the idiot who designed that traffic pattern should get the Dee Dee Deeee award for the decade.
Not disagreeing with you but, the speed limit on rte. 13 through Pocomoke is 50 mph and 55 through Princess Anne.
True, anon 8:47, but doesn't it slow down there near Univ. Blvd and around those 3 or 4 lights in Pocomoke? It's been a while since I've been down there. Besides, the issue is the fact that the north side of Sprawlsbury is SO congested. The speed limit of 55 might have been alright when there was not as much development, but I think now it is entirely too fast. Ya'll think we can get Bubba Comegys on that one? LOL. Also, did anyone catch the witch and one of the flying monkeys on PAC 14 last night? It was our good buddy Bubba.
