Sheila Polk and her Husband are raising their 6 Grandchildren ranging in ages 15, 14, 10, 6, 5 & 4 years old. Unfortunately in today's society, this is all too familiar.
Sheila has congenital heart disease, diabetes, she has had two knee replacements and is getting ready to have both hips replaced as well. Because of her heart disease, she is also bound to a wheelchair. Her Husband got diabetes and is blind in one eye and legally blind in the other eye as well.
Last Friday, Sheila went to the Salisbury K-Mart with her Granddaughter and had her purse over the handrail of her wheelchair. While shopping, someone stole the $250.00 cash she had to do her Christmas Shopping.
When they went to take their items to the register to pay for them they had realized the money was gone. They searched the entire Store and ultimately called the Salisbury Police Department. The person at the SPD told them that since they hadn't seen anyone take the money, there was nothing they could do.
So here's what I'm asking everyone willing to participate to do. Write a check for $5.00, that's it. If you can give more, God Bless You. However, imagine the position this Family is in, (as well as many others) and just reach into your pocket for $5.00 each.
I will tell you that Sheila, (nor ANYONE related to her) came to me with this story. It was one of those things where a friend was calling someone else and they dialed the wrong number. Once they realized they had done so, (knowing this person) she asked how everything was going. They could tell something was wrong and Sheila explained what had happened.
This friend then contacted me, (who I know like a Sister) and would NEVER take advantage of anyone. I chose to call Sheila and ask her the details and I am now asking everyone else to do their good deed for the Season. If you can send a Gift Card, a Check, a Toy, whatever makes you comfortable, this Family would be forever grateful.
You can send a check or gift to,
Sheila Polk

Merry Christmas & Thank You! If you cannot help, please keep this Family in your thoughts and prayers as raising one Grandchild is tough enough. SIX, in their condition, well, you know.

JOE IS THERE ANYWAY TO FIND OUT THE SEX WITH THE AGE IN CASE SOMEONE WANTED TO PURCHASE SPECIFIC GIFTS FOR EACH CHILD?
Since you are always professing how you are a millionaire, why don't you help this particular family. Small donations will not do much for presents for the children this close to Christmas.
It's about giving. It's about feeling good for doing so. IF YOU do not wish to participate, that's your choice. However, one has to wonder why someone like yourself would have to go public with such a statement if you weren't one of the Anti Albero people.
It also proves you've never had that wonderful feeling in your heart when you give. Try it, it's only 5 bucks, you'll like it.
Try reading an earlier Post I put up about the horse that just passed away. When is the last time you traveled the Country rescuing foals and saving their lives, then spend a couple of hundred dollars a day just feeding them. That's right, hundreds of dollars per day.
The Albero household does their fair share of participating, more than you'll ever know. By the way, I didn't see you on Church Street giving your time to clean up the neighborhood either. So think about what you're challenging me with and have yourself a wonderful day.
Good comeback Joe. I will do what I can. What a fuggin' Grinch 3:36 is.......
It is a very rewarding experience to help someone. I stopped by their house (thanks to the address on you gave)this evening and gave them a christmas card with a little something in it. Mrs. Polk was so thankful and is truly a nice lady trying to do the best she can do. It was a very heartwarming experience. Thanks Joe
Church St. is not my neighborhood or even in my city. I spend enough time cleaning up our own neighborhood with trash pick ups, etc. I also spend many days helping the Salvation Army, and feeding the homeless. Since we're tooting our horns. How about helping people and not just horses?
Sometimes the greatest gift is knowing how many people care, even in a small way. Thank you. Joe has done his part by letting us know about this. Now we have an opportunity to share if we choose to do so.
That was just a wrong comment from anonymous at 3:36. When you give it makes you feel good. Does not matter what kind of money you have or what money you dont have. If i had the funds to give i most def. would.. but im not in that situation to do so. But keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
To anonymous 5:56, PRICELESS! Thank You!
Leave it to your detractors to try and sh*t on your good deed-they have forced me to enable comment moderation on my site. What lowlife steals a purse from a handicapped woman in a wheelchair?????Thanks for posting info on how the public can help!
Stealing money from a woman in a wheelchair is the same as parking in a handicapped space when you are not truly handicapped. Sound familiar Louise and all you other scumbags that do the same thing?
GOOD DEED? Joe lies about people stalks them then tries to pull this to make himself look good. Bullsht is what this is. Cough up the money yourself Joe. If he does he will put up an I AM SO GREAT POST!
Once again, I smell JR!
Speaking of parking in handicap spaces, 3 days ago I was at WaWa in the am and a black truck with the tag SCF0060 pulls into the handicap space gets out and walks inside. This was a uniformed fireman. You would think he could park in another spot and leave the handicap ones for the handicap. No on but the handicap should be parking in these.
Please do what you can for this family, I went there after reading this post and gave the best gift I gave to anyone this year, it came from the heart, and showed the true meaning of christmas. Joe thank you for telling us about them.
Knowing Joe he probably already slipped them some money and the rest of what we can give is just icing on the cake in the season of giving.
Come on Joe, don't delete this post~!
If Joe didn't give them money I'll bet Sam's Club got a good chunk of his money buying needed items for this family.
Christmas is truly the time for giving,no matter how big or small....it is always the thought that counts. I'm sorry so many people can be insensitive at this time a year. Most of us do not have the funds to be handing out, but what better time of year to do it than now?
If we could all just take a moment or two to remember what this time of the year represents, I’m sure we could all stop all the name calling and finger pointing. My thing is that if we just do what we think is right then together can make a difference. I and my family went to the address of Mr. and Mrs. Polk and gave them what we could. I am not saying that everyone needs to do the same, just keep in mind that those that choose to assist the less fortunate should not have to continue to read all the absurd and unnecessary comments about who is doing what and how much they are doing. Personally, my belief is that if you see a need and can help to make a change or a difference, do it without having to be recognized for doing it. It should come from the heart or not come at all. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Santa Claus is coming to Town~! Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays to all.....Peace
