Salvation Army Kettle Kick Off

This afternoon the Salvation Army, joined by Salisbury's Mayor Barrie Tilghman and County Executive Rick Pollitt joined forces introducing this major fundraising drive for the Salvation Army.

Between now and Christmas, the Salvation Army raises about 10% of their annual donations through Bell Ringers within Wicomico County. They are in need of Volunters if you'd like to help out. You can do so by calling, 410-749-7771 Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Mr. Pollitt folded up some bills and was the first to make a donation.

Thanks for getting the word out about the kettle drive for The Salvation Army. The money raised helps us maintain the much needed programs for children in our community. Mark Thompson, Executive Director,The Salvation Army- Richard Hazel Youth Center

I made my first donation of the season today at the Fruitland Walmart. No more than I shop a dollar here and there won't break me.

Heard the only reason they got Pollitt to show was because he heard the word Kettle and associated that with food.

I saw Big Rick last year at the Fruitland Walmart merrily ringing his bell.

I will also add when he was a bell ringer there last year there was no photo op, he was there because he wanted to be there. He'd already won the election and wasn't there to get votes, so that wasn't a reason either!

Say what you want about Rick Pollitt, what you can't say is that he doesn't care or work for his community.

Have any of you seen Alessi or Jannace or any other politician out ringing bells?
