"When a facility loses AZA accreditation/certification, the SSP may work with the facility for up to two years to help manage the population and facilitate disposition of animals owned by AZA institutions. The facility will not be a member of the SSP, but may still be considered during the planning processes. During this time the SSP cannot move SSP animals to that facility."
You tell me Ladies & Gentlemen, do YOU think the Salisbury Zoo is going to get any Red Wolves? NOT if the SSP & AZA have anything to do with it. "During this time the SSP cannot move SSP animals to that facility." The Red Wolves ARE on the SSP List and the Zoo cannot obtain them without their permission. Looks like this Mayor has got some explaining to do.

As if the Hazel's need more problems. They have done so much for this city.
I can't imagine how this must make them feel. I graduated with Colleen. I'm sure they don't regret anything they have tried to get done.
I was under the imprssion that this Red Wolf exhibit was going to lead to bigger and better things. Can't even get the fancy dog house done.
Well I guess that sinches the Red Wolf exhibit. I sure feel for the Hazel's in this and the mayor aught to see that their donation is returned, with interest!! Unless she says its been spent for other things not related to the zoo, which wouldn't surprise me.

What do "SSP" and "AZA" mean -- no doubt the Z stands for Zoo/Zoological?
If Morgan and/or Colleen read this blog I hope they have paid Barrie a visit and demanded the return of the family's money, in full. A donation for a specific purpose is to be spent for that purpose only, otherwise it is general funds type money and can be used for anything. The sign for the red wolf trail is called the Patricia and Richard Hazel... therefore the funds were quite obviously donated for that reason. The same with the $50k donated for that new quarantine building, the money has a specific purpose. No trail, no building, no spending.
