There has been alot of vehicle break ins recently. Our car was hit twice in 4 days!1 Nothing was taken, they only rifled through everything. Looks like Pittsville is quickly becoming Americas 12th most dangerous city - LOL.

Police or SHERIFF's substation?

Does the Town of Pittsville HAVE a Police Department?

Is that sub-station even open? I know it closed for a while but thought it had been re-opened. Havnt seen a Sherrifs car there in a long while.

Looks like you answered your own question.

With NO police department, why is there a POLICE substation?

No, we only got our substation back recently. The kids are running rampant and destroying the playground as as you know Joe , your property as well. Daily I see material removed from your property and taken to the basketball court so they can skateboard on it. The Sherrifs office needs to patrol from 3:30 to 9:00 daily to stop this. I realize that is not going to happen since thay have to patrol the streets of Salisbury.

I think it used to be a Sheriff's substation, but like Jim, I haven't seen a Sheriff in there since God Knows When. Joe, are you talking about the substation near the WWTP in Pittsville?

Yes, It is a Sub Station for the Sheriffs Department. Yes, it is located next to their WWTP in Pittsville.

Sounds like an FOM (Friend of Mike) should place a call to report the situation.

You know, the Sheriff's Department does "policing" hence the name police substation. Look, I don't agree with everything on here either but for crying out loud people, are you psychotic?

I heard they opened that place up a while ago but I haven't seen a deputy there in years. Kinda like opening it up just to say you fulfilled a campaign promise.

Who is being psychotic? All I am asking is where the policing is being done because it sure doesnt look like its near their substation in Pittsville.

If crime is going up around here I would expect to see some Sherrifs around, which I have not. Would love to know where the Sherrifs who chased that teen strted from. Any clues people? I bet it wasnt from their substation it Pittsville.

No, Don't believe I've seen any patrols in over a year. The case being why people drive 50mph on pine street, when the posted limit is 30.
