The Albero's Dominate The Daily Times Front Page

Frank Albero, Father of Joe Albero, was featured on the Front Page of the Daily Times this morning sporting a wooden statue. I've been out scooped!
What the article doesn't say is that my father decided to cut the 70' tall tree down on his own! Folks wonder where I get my tenacity from and it's obviously in the genes. I know there are quite a few senior citizens out there that are still doing things that most 20 somethings would never tackle. My hat goes off to those amazing folks.
A big congratulations has to go to the two gentlemen, Tommy Winn and Wade Puryear, that carved the tree at my Dad's request. They were reluctant at first, but my father knew they could do it. It's great to see local folks supporting the arts and great to see local patriotism. Whoever coined the phrase, "The military is fighting the war in Iraq and the rest of America is at the Mall," may not have it correct. Here's a constant reminder of those patriotic souls who have and still are sacrificing their own lives for the sake of all of our freedom. Keep up the good work and don't forget to drive by and see an amazing salute to our armed forces.

Simply BRAVO to the elder Albero. A fine tribute indeed. A big hats off to pops!

Hey Joe is there is any truth to the rumor that you'll be doing the same with a tree in your yard? Only instead of a solidier it will be a depiction of a certain Wicomico Sheriff?

Joe:

All's well that ends well.

Had you done this story your detractors (I can hear Robinson now) would have excoriated you for it -- and after all he used to say about his folks when he was still on 1320 AM (it often sounded like the "Family Hour").

Your dad must move to a different drummer, and that's great. But, who got his good looks?

If your pop lives in Salisbury, he'll soon be getting visitors from the City -- hope he's in compliance.

I read this story twice and didn't see any mention of lawsuits -- since you're keeping track.

On an earlier post someone said, "More breaking news. possible hazmat in salisbuy, i heard it from a reporter before i heard it from you."

Now you make the above comment. Would anyone like to join me in a bet that the Daily Times Reporters are all over my Blog today?

That was a good move on Frank's part. A really neat tribute to vets everywhere!
