After Cop Illegally Enters Home, Video Captures Him Handcuffing Terrified Woman Who’s Wearing Only a Towel
“When a cop shows up, you’re not the one in charge. I don’t care if this is your house.”
But that may not be the worst of it.
An internal investigation by police in Chandler, Arizona, found that arresting Officer Doug Rose entered Esmeralda Rossi’s home illegally on March 25, didn’t turn on his body camera and failed to document important details regarding probable cause and use of force — and that Rossi was naked except for a towel.

IMMIGRATION TO SWELL U.S. MUSLIM POPULATION TO 6.2 MILLION
The Associated Press and NBC are now reporting that Tennessee gunman Muhammed Youssef Abdulazees was an immigrant from the Muslim nation of Kuwait.
According to U.S. Census Data, the United States admits roughly 100,000 Muslim immigrants legally each year, representing the fastest growing block of immigration into the United States. Tennessee, in fact, is home to one of the fastest growing immigrant populations in the country, causing the President to give a recent speech there in favor of expansive immigration. The Mayor of Nashville has launched a New American Advisory Council to help facilitate the legally-sanctioned transition from the previous inhabitants of Nashville to the new ones.
Both of Tennessee’s Senators,
Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), helped pass the Senate’s Gang of Eight bill which would have tripled the number of green cards issued over the next ten years.

Man Mistakenly Raised A Pair of Bear Cubs for Two Years
Think of the biggest prank you've ever pulled, and then multiply that 1,000 times, and you might have an understanding of the shock that a man from China's Yunnan Province experienced recently.
It all started a couple of years ago when Wang Kaiyu purchased what he thought were two puppies from a Vietnamese vendor. At the time, Kaiyu believed the pups would make good guards for his property.
As the "puppies" grew, Kaiyu became concerned by their odd behavior and strong appetites for prey (that included his pet chickens).
After seeing a wildlife protection announcement from the local forest service, Kaiyu realized his pets weren't canine at all—they were actually Asian black bears, a category-2 endangered species.

Court Ends Probe of Scott Walker's Recall Campaign
Presidential candidate Scott Walker won a major legal victory Thursday when the Wisconsin Supreme Court ended a secret investigation into whether the Republican's gubernatorial campaign illegally coordinated with conservative groups during the 2012 recall election.
No one has been charged in the so-called John Doe probe, Wisconsin's version of a grand jury investigation in which information is tightly controlled. But questions about the investigation have dogged Walker for months.
"Today's ruling confirmed no laws were broken, a ruling that was previously stated by both a state and federal judge," Walker spokeswoman AshLee Strong said. "It is time to move past this unwarranted investigation that has cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars."
The case centers on political activity conducted by the Wisconsin Club for Growth and other conservative organizations during the recall, which was spurred by Democrats' anger over Walker's law that effectively ended collective bargaining for most public workers.
In the majority opinion, Justice Michael Gableman, part of the court's conservative majority, praised conservative groups for challenging the investigation, saying it was fortunate that prosecutors targeted "innocent citizens who had both the will and the means to fight the unlimited resources of an unjust prosecution."

'Hogan Strong' cancer awareness merchandise grows in Maryland
The slogan “Hogan Strong” is spreading beyond a social media hashtag.
Route One Apparel, a small business founded by a University of Maryland College Park junior four years ago, has created a Hogan Strong T-shirt, designed with the motto and a cancer awareness ribbon — in a Maryland flag pattern, of course. For each $25 shirt sold, $5 will go to lymphoma and leukemia research, according to the business.
Less than a month ago, Republican Gov. Larry Hogan announced he has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and is undergoing aggressive medical treatment. The cancer develops in a type of white blood cell that helps the body fight infections.

Mayor Calls Barack Obama 'Monkey Man,' & Michelle Obama 'Gorilla Face,' But Says He's Not Racist
The mayor of a small city in Washington reportedly admitted that he called President Barack Obama "monkey man" and first lady Michelle Obama "gorilla face," but says he will not resign over the racist comments.
"Gorilla face Michelle, can't disagree with that," Patrick Rushing, mayor of Airway Heights, reportedly wrote in a Facebook post. "The woman is not attractive except to monkey man Barack. Check out them ears. LOL."
The comments led the city council to call for his resignation on Monday.
“When a figurehead makes comments such as these that sets us back and it's hard to come back from,” police chief and acting city manager Lee Bennett told KXLY, the local ABC station.
However, Rushing insists he will not step down from his role as mayor of the city, which is just outside of Spokane and has a population of nearly 6,500, according to Census data.
“I made a mistake. I owned up to my mistake,” Rushing told the Spokesman-Review. “If I do resign that’s admitting I’m a racist and I’m not.”

Wall Street is betting on Bush and Clinton
Wall Street opened its wallet for Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in their first weeks as candidates, despite the sometimes tough talk on the campaign trail about closing the nation’s wealth gap.
Bush collected nearly $145,000 from employees at Goldman Sachs and almost $167,000 coming from seven other big banks. Another $63,100 in contributions came from employees of the financial firm Neuberger Berman, run by his cousin, George Herbert Walker IV, who previously worked at Goldman Sachs, according to campaign financial-disclosure reports released Wednesday.
During his six years as an adviser for the defunct Wall Street bank Lehman Bros. and later at Barclays PLC, Bush said he earned, on average, between $1.3 million and $2 million a year. Employees of Barclays have donated $29,700, so far.

Ocean City council weighs building permit hikes
Despite the recent rebound in construction work in Ocean City — particularly with several new, large chain hotels — resort government is still suffering from a cash flow problem in its building permit system.
The City Council held a lengthy discussion Tuesday on whether to raise fees for electrical and mechanical repair permits, one part of a much larger picture of how the city runs its building inspection operations.
Elected officials were at a fairly sharp crossroads: either raise application fees to cover costs or start eliminating certain regulatory schemes that were money-losing propositions.
“Would it be smarter for us to not require a permit?” Councilman Wayne Hartman asked, referring to certain minor jobs. “If it’s already costing us money [to run the permit system], you’re not going to be making it back with more volume, you’re only going to be losing more money.”

Bill Clinton Concedes His Crime Law Jailed Too Many for Too Long
WASHINGTON — Former President Bill Clinton on Wednesday disavowed part of the anti-crime legislation that he long considered one of his top accomplishments, concluding that it went too far in sending even minor criminals to prison “for way too long.”
Addressing a convention of the N.A.A.C.P. a day after President Obama called for a wholesale overhaul of the criminal justice system, Mr. Clinton embraced the idea. He agreed that the law he enacted in 1994 played a significant part in warping sentencing standards and leading to an era of mass incarceration.
“I signed a bill that made the problem worse,” Mr. Clinton said. “And I want to admit it.”
The expression of regret was the latest effort by Mr. Clinton to reframe his record nearly 15 years after he left office and clear the way for his wife’s own campaign for the White House. Mr. Clinton has previously renounced the Defense of Marriage Act that he signed, defining marriage as the union of a man and woman, and the don’t-ask, don’t-tell policy that barred gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military.
