But suddenly, now, the FBI is pure as the driven snow, and its reputation must not be besmirched; otherwise, Democracy itself could collapse.

Wisconsin Dems: Obtaining Voter ID Is ‘Free and Easy’
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin on Monday admitted it is "free and easy" for Wisconsin voters to obtain a photo ID despite arguing in the past that voter ID laws suppress minority voters and disenfranchise "so many people."
The party sent out a tweet on Monday letting voters know that the primary election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court was coming up on Feb. 20 and that it was "free and easy" for voters to obtain a photo ID to vote. The tweet included a link to inform voters about the various forms of ID that are acceptable on election day.
The "MyVote Wisconsin" link noted there is no separate "Voter ID" card required to vote, adding that anyone "with a valid Wisconsin driver license or Wisconsin state ID card" can vote. It also listed eleven other documents that would be accepted at the polling stations.
Democrats have not always thought voter IDs were "free and easy" to obtain in Wisconsin. In the not-so-distant past, Democrats accused Republican Gov. Scott Walker and Republicans in the state of trying to suppress the vote of Democrats and minorities, the Hill reported in 2016.

An Open Letter to the FBI
When LaVoy Finicum was murdered by the FBI two years ago during the Oregon Malheur protest, all the government abuses I had spoken of on my radio, really hit home. They lived near me and I had interviewed most of them prior to going to Oregon.
In light of the current headlines exposing the depth of the FBI corruption and collusion, maybe now the nation can finally grasp how this agency really operates. The FBI corruption also ran deep in the Oregon protest, too. As the media lied and twisted the narrative of what transpired, I felt compelled to shine a light on the truth of what really happened to LaVoy Finicum.
I penned this letter after attending his heartbreaking funeral.

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Insurance Administration continues to partner with federal, state and local government agencies, insurance carriers and producers to investigate and prosecute individuals and businesses for committing insurance fraud. For the calendar year 2017, Maryland Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer, Jr. authorized civil orders and criminal charges totaling $466,261 in fines, penalties and restitution. Insurance fraud is one of the most costly crimes in the country, costing consumers directly in the form of higher premiums.
“Our Insurance Fraud Division continues to investigate all tips regarding suspected civil and criminal insurance fraud,” said Commissioner Redmer. “We want Marylanders to know they can and should call us if they suspect insurance fraud. All tips are confidential and we follow up on each lead. The bad actors need to be held accountable for their actions.”
Over 40 individuals were ordered to pay $200,514 in administrative penalties and restitution for committing civil insurance fraud in Maryland. Additionally, the investigative work of the Insurance Fraud Division of the Maryland Insurance Administration led to 37 people being criminally prosecuted for committing insurance fraud, resulting in $265,747 in fines, penalties and restitution.

Former Virginia officer is sentenced to life in prison
A former Virginia police officer and Marine Corps veteran has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
Former Richmond police officer Charles Church, 41, was sentenced on Friday after being convicted last July of object sexual penetration of a child under 13 and indecent exposure, The Richmond Times reported.
He was acquitted of sodomy and a second count of object sexual penetration.

Clinton associates fed information to Trump dossier author Steele, memo says
Clinton associates were "feeding" allegations to former British spy Christopher Steele at the same time he was compiling the controversial anti-Trump dossier paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign, according to an unclassified memo from senior Senate Republicans who recently made a criminal referral.
Those Republicans, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., had asked the Justice Department in January to investigate Steele based on evidence they say suggests he lied to the FBI about his contacts with the media (a violation of 18 USC 1001) -- or the FBI misrepresented Steele’s statements.
The lawmakers are now asking the FBI for an emergency review of their criminal referral so it can be made public, with limited redactions.

The manufacturing industry in Ohio is expanding under the Trump administration, but growth is stunted because many potential employees are also addicted to drugs.
Steve Staub, who runs Staub Manufacturing Solutions in Ohio, attended the State of the Union address Tuesday as a special guest to President Donald Trump. While there, aside from participating in the pageantry, Staub discussed problems in the manufacturing industry and business in general with the president.
Staub mentioned to Trump the toll the opioid crisis has had on business’ ability to fill jobs. About two million Americans nationwide are addicted to the drug. The crisis has been particularly hard on Staub’s home state of Ohio, were thousands of job applicants are turned away because of substance abuse.
“In Ohio alone, they have about 20,000 available jobs in manufacturing. In Dayton, Ohio, where I’m from, we have about 4,000 jobs available today in manufacturing that we can’t fill,” Staub told TheDCNF. “We can’t get people to pass a drug test.”

Indiana the Second State to Impose Work Requirements for Medicaid
Indiana became the second state to implement work requirements for Medicaid on Friday after the Trump administration approved their waiver.
The Donald Trump administration approved a waiver for Indiana to implement work requirements for the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), which provides Indians health insurance. The waiver will also include a tobacco surcharge and up to $240 million over three years for addiction treatment.
Indiana now requires HIP recipients in “community engagement” activities, which includes going to school, participating in a job training program, working, or volunteering.
Alex Azar, the new Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary, said in a statement, “Today’s announcement is one significant step in a long legacy of innovation in person-centered health care. Indiana’s vision and ours goes beyond the provision of quality health care. It recognizes that Medicaid can become a pathway out of poverty.”

Maryland State Police Super Bowl Enforcement Efforts
(PIKESVILLE, MD) – This year’s Super Bowl enforcement efforts of the Maryland State Police were on the defense keeping the public safe.
Traffic enforcement efforts by Maryland state troopers during the Super Bowl weekend resulted in more than 3,900 traffic stops that led to 131 arrests, of which more than 60 were arrested for driving while impaired.
Maryland State Police patrol troopers began increased Super Bowl LII traffic enforcement efforts on February 2, 2018 that continued through February 4, 2018. During that period, troopers arrested 62 impaired drivers, arrested 38 for criminal offenses and arrested another 31 people who were found to be wanted on warrants.
The arrests occurred during 3,935 traffic stops made by troopers working traffic safety initiatives that included additional patrols, sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and speed enforcement. Troopers issued 2,657 citations, 2,547 warnings and 542 safety equipment repair orders. Troopers at each of the 23 Maryland State Police barracks were involved in special enforcement operations during the Super Bowl weekend.
The Maryland State Police continue to support the Maryland Department of Transportation’s campaign “Toward Zero Deaths.” These high visibility enforcement efforts reduce the number of aggressive driving, motor vehicle crashes in which speed, alcohol and other driving violations are contributing factors to crashes on Maryland roads. Troopers will continue these initiatives throughout the year.

Fed Drops Hammer on Wells Fargo, Ousts Four Directors, Orders Bank Not To Grow
The Federal Reserve Friday ordered Wells Fargo not to grow until it improves its governance and to replace four board members, citing “widespread consumer abuses.”
In an order announced late Friday, the Fed said that the bank could not grow its assets beyond levels reported at the end of 2017 until it gets prior regulatory approval. The bank, America’s second largest by asset size, was also told to replace three members of its board of directors by April and to replace one more by the end of the year.
“We cannot tolerate pervasive and persistent misconduct at any bank and the consumers harmed by Wells Fargo expect that robust and comprehensive reforms will be put in place to make certain that the abuses do not occur again,” Fed chair Janet Yellen said in a statement.
The penalties imposed on Wells Fargo are unusually harsh, perhaps unprecedented. They would appear to reflect the frustration of regulators with the bank’s reluctance to take more serious measures to address years of misconduct.
