The Dream Catcher Goes Down

Last week I mentioned that a very dear friend of mine was a part of the rescue of the Dream Catcher. Tony Battista took these photos aboard Tommy Fowler's "NOTORIOUS" and participated in helping everyone involved.

Wildlife Picture Of The Year!

I hate to admit this BUT, I do not have one of those special photo programs you can do all sorts of fancy stuff with like some, (if not most) people have.

This photo, (nor any others I have produced) is exactly as it was taken and in my own opinion is one of the finest I've ever produced.

Forgive me if I've overwhelmed all of you with Hummingbird photos recently, I just find them facinating creatures. Nevertheless, this photo just came out unbelievable and I had to share it.
By all means, click on photo to enlarge.

SHHHHHHH! We're Sleeping!

Yes, that's a puppy sleeping in a bowl! Have you ever seen something so cute? Then the chain link puppy photo of all 5 puppies sleeping all the way up to the one in the bowl! That's Love!

JOE ALBERO, YOU'RE #1

The reception I get whenever I go anywhere is more than just touching! Being President of the "What A Guy Club" has heightened my credibility everywhere I go and ever since I was a small child my Mother told me about this "you're #1 sign," always smile back and wave, she said.

I never understood why my Father never went into NASCAR Racing because "everyone" thought he was #1 too, even if he was just pulling into a parking space!

Even Barrie Tilghman, Mayor of the City of Salisbury has shared the love many times and believes I'm #1 too! It doesn't get any better than this folks. Thank You! As long as I can continue to get so much support I'll be there for you through good times and through bad.

Salisbury Union Station

As reported in today's Daily Times, the owners of the Red Roost plan on doing what every investor should consider when purchasing a piece of property below market value.

We've seen the Ulman Theater property go from a Garden Center to reading a sign in Parker Place Antiques stating their antiques are now located in the old Ulman Theater location.

In the case of the old Union Station, I believe these folks will be honorable and create a really cool dining experience and with any help from the Police Department they'll work on cleaning up that part of town and make it well worth visiting this new establishment when it's finished.

The Daily Times stated it's only "blocks" from the Downtown Plaza but if you have any clue where these two places are located, no one in their right mind would walk that far to start with, let alone keep from being run over, mugged or even shot along the way. I hope the City supports the investment these fine people are putting up but only time will tell?

Homeland Security In Salisbury?

Sorry about the out of focus pictures but sometimes it's difficult to drive and snap a picture at the same time. Nevertheless, I caught this vehicle snooping around near Sam's and Lowes. Things that make you go, hmmmmm?

Two Ferrets Available At Humane Society

These two ferrets were fresh deliveries when I visited the Humane Society last week. I named them, Mike & Gary because they reminded me so much of weasels.

Of course, one of them could be a female and we all know what name she would have received. Nonetheless, these two are available and are in need of a good home.

There's A Hummer In The Albero Family

Red Net Alert!!!!!

Folks, this doesn't happen very often but if you know the Valaro Gas Station on Rt. 50 in Hebron, premium gas is $2.75 a gallon! They're unloading their premium gas and that's all they're serving at the moment. So if you wants some great gas at a great price, get over there and fill up!

Will It Ever Happen?

I can't remember the names of the restaurants I used to look forward to visiting at local airports across the country but they were some kind of bomb squadron or other and they were fantastic!

The atmosphere was fabulous and they usually had some sort of WWII Airplane sticking through the roof or walls.

For some reason, I don't think I'll be looking forward to heading to the Salisbury Airport for a dining experience similar to what I had seen in the past.

The atmosphere will probably be very plain but one thing you can expect is great deserts. Jimmy serves a decent meal but rumor has it the guy doesn't pay his bills and this entire venture could be very short lived.

Let's hope for everyone's sake this doesn't happen because this is the most boring airport in the entire United States! That is, unless you like breast milk. Hence the post below.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Please click on the picture to enlarge for a better view.
Look, I don't want people going off on me thinking I'm on the attack against handicapped people, because I'm not.

However, a brand new $70,000.00 Duly Truck with Handicapped Tags? Do you think this guy just can't fit into a normal parking spot and needs the open space of a closer and wider place to park their vehicle?

I can see a wheelchair lift vehicle. I can see a seriously injured person needing the use of such a tag but a Duly tells a whole different story.

Sorry folks but this is abusing the system. Why do I get the feeling this post will be like Jay Lenno making a crack about cats and getting a million letters stating he's such a bad person? Let's see how this one turns out?

Available Cats

In order, meet Sammy who's 10 months old and looking for a nice family for adoption. I've been told Sammy has been there quite a while, so please consider this one soon.

Next, meet Gabby. She too is 10 months old and is spayed. The next cat is Bee Bop who is also spayed and 2 years old. Tony is neutered and is also 2 years old. Then of course there's the kittens. Folks, these guys are just adorable!

The most important message the Humane Society wants to get through is, If your pet is missing, CALL THE HUMANE SOCIETY! All too often animals are picked up and why people don't think of calling the Humane Society is beyond me but it happens each and every day, up to 30 times a day, believe it or not. One woman came in asking if she could put up a flyer in their building and when of the Staff saw the picture on the flyer they immediately recognized the animals and lead the owner right to it. It was picked up days earlier and they woman never called!

A Humane Society In A Very Inhumane Society

After my post this morning mentioning the Humane Society I thought and felt I could really make a difference by using this Blog Site to do some real good in Wicomico County.

So I took the ride from Delmar out to the Humane Society and met with Linda, Mike and the rest of the fantastic group of very special human beings working there and found out the following.

My numbers weren't far off at all when it comes to the amount of animals having to be euthanized this summer. The biggest volume has come from Cats. It turns out that during the summer months adoptions go way down yet rescues go way up. The controls how many animals they can keep or not and right now they are so loaded with animals they are truly desperate for good families to just come in a take a look around. I have to tell you all, it was so hard walking out of there without bringing one home, but it's possible.

I'm asking you to please go take a visit there. Bring them a load of newspapers or some got and cat food, they need it. The County provides a great chunk of money to support their efforts but it's nowhere near enough money and they need donations desperately, especially this time of year. There's a link above to their web site and there's also a number to call.

I am posting a few photos of some of the animals they have there right now and trust me, please, there wasn't a single one in the entire place I wouldn't adopt! Jennifer and I have 14 dogs, 3 cats and 2 horses, we're loaded up with animals and I think those numbers will tell you how much we give back.

1) Proof that there is good use for the Daily Times after all.

2) The second photo above is Mariah. She's in kennel C-3 and she's a white huskey mix. Her eyes will make you melt!

3) Kennel C-1 is a 9 year old shepherd named Salina. Now folks, she's 9 years old. Someone can give this old gal some lovin, can't you?

4) Kennel D-5 is one of the most adorable lab mixes I've ever seen. She's a 5 month old female and she is just a baby.

5) My brother used to have two dogs exactly like this female lab mix and they were just the coolest dogs ever! She needs a home folks!

My next post will show photos of cats. I am going to dedicate one day a week for the Humane Society in the hopes that some of you will open your homes and hearts for these little fellas. You've read the stories about Jennifer and I traveling half way across the Country to purchase foals and rescue them. This required a $40,000.00 truck, a $5,000.00 trailer and $150.00 a day in Mares Milk Formula alone every day. It was the best money I have ever spent and I'll never look back! If you'd like that same feeling, go to their web site, call them or simply drop in any by all means, PLEASE send me a picture showing you have adopted or volunteered your time and we'll make sure it's posted. I mean this folks, thanks!

Let's Set The Record Straight

In today's Daily Times everyone's name was mentioned referencing the "City pulls proposal to limit animals" with exception of the one person who started the entire proposal and that would be Barrie Tilghman.

It was Barrie Tilghman who vindictively went after "one" family and she "used" Chief Webster to lead the way in changing what everyone thought would create a new law. However, the law of only having 5 animals in one household has always been on the books in Salisbury. So what kind of reporting was the Daily Times actually offering?

The Times quoted, "A proposed animal control ordinance that would limit the number of dogs, cats and rabbits to five per home has created a stir in the community and left council members inundated with phone calls, said Mike Dunn." Hello, that's always been the law!

Barrie Tilghman was doing what she does best and she was going after "one family" in order to take away pets from 7 children! That's how cold she is folks. She couldn't prove that these animals weren't well cared for and this particular family registered legally each and every year for a special permit allowing them to have above 5 animals so each child could own their very own pet. They weren't after the 5 animal law, they were after allowing any more special permits!

So in order to protect Barrie Tilghman and the Daily Times proving she was the front runner in this move, they eliminated her name completely from the article. It's amazing how they protect her and it's amazing the two real people in charge of defending her from the Salisbury Kennel Club were ignored and they chose to attempt to pass this supposed new rule anyway.

It was only until we found out about this one family and the fact that this information would go public, that's when the Mayor and Council backed off! It just proves once again that Barrie Tilghman will go to great lengths and extremes to hurt you if you're not a FOB.

My guess is that she'll call for a Press Conference in the near future to try to clear her name but just like every other time she'll come out looking like a fool once again.

On another note, Gary Comegys was overheard stating that the Humane Society Staff are deeply concerned over the amount of animals the Humane Society was forced to put down this summer. I heard it was in the hundreds.
I have just confirmed through the Humane Society that they have in factc put down close to 300 animals this summer alone. It's time we concentrate on helping the Humane Society Folks.

Please Help These Kittens!

A friend rescued these cats from the dump where they had been abandoned. They are very people-friendly. 2 females, one male. Looking for placements in nice homes. Anyone interested should please contact gail.pearl@ins.com

Gail is even willing to pay for their first shots but everyone needs to respond quickly because Gail is on vacation until Sunday and may have to leave these animals behind.

Thanks Gail and good luck!

RED NET ALERT!!!!!!!

The Salisbury City Council has dropped the ordinance regarding pet limits from consideration! The council will no longer be hearing the changes to the ordinance as proposed by Chief Webster but will consider the issue at a later date only if the police dept considers using the nuisance laws as their main focus of attack in place of the limit on pets within the city.

Please be on the lookout for a woman driving a white Volvo Station Wagon pouting and crying and possibly drinking heavy and goes by the name B. Tilghman.

Today's Wildlife Photo

I have some serious competition folks! This photo came to me today from a local resident who wants to remain anonymous. I know I'd want credit for a picture like this but what can I say? Please keep your pictures coming in and if you too would like to remain anonymous I'd be happy to take credit for shots like this. Just kidding, send those pictures folks, this is great!

A Strategically Mastered Plan

I have received numerous e-mail messages from people concerning the fact that the Salisbury Zoo spent some $50,000.00 on a Master Plan. These funds were donated by the Hazel Family and the end result was the Zoo needed to come up with $18,200,000.00 to fulfill this dream. What you must keep in mind is the fact that these figures were just a guestimate and Jim Rapp never received hard figures as to what the thing might truly cost. To top that off, these were figures from years ago before gas prices went through the roof and similar to the Fire Department, the Zoo's figures would almost double and the cost today and would be somewhere around $34,000,000.00.

However, if you people were upset at the $50,000.00 spent on this Master Plan, how about the $65,000.00 the City just put into the Budget for the Zoo solely for a building the AZA is demanding be put in the Zoo that was NOT included in the original Master Plan. In one of the Zoo Commission Meetings Ron Alessi and Jim Rapp stated the building would cost some $2,000,000.00 alone to build and the $65,000.00 the City just put into the Zoo's budget for just this building was for, are you ready, PLANS for the $2,000,000.00 building!

That's right Taxpayers, you just forked up $65,000.00 just for plans for a building I can guarantee some other Zoo across America has that is an AZA Zoo as well. Nope, not Barrie Tilghman, Ron Alessi and Jim Rapp! They want their own designs! You'll pay $65,000.00 for them too! So you pay dues by the thousands each year into the AZA and they demand structures be built and the City agrees, (which was a smart move anyway by the AZA) and I guess Ron Alessi, (the man who thinks he own a construction company) comes up with a $65,000.00 figure to design a building?

The Master Plan is not construction designs. It's an idea and each building they come up with will I guess cost some $65,000.00 to design each and in my opinion I'd like to know where they came up with the $18,200,000.00 figure to start with? Could it have been a Ron Alessi figure? You know, the guy who again thinks he owns a construction company? Will it be his firm designing the plans and or subbing the plans out so he can pay back debts?

If I were a taxpayer in Salisbury I'd start asking some serious questions and get documented proof of the answers because I wouldn't trust these people as far as I could throw them.

God Bless America

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America and to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justicefor all.

These photos were just passed on to me moments ago by an avid reader of this Blog Site. They were taken this past Tuesday evening of the Iwo Jima memorial in Arlington NationalCemetery.

I was just taken back by the the corner of the memorial, the monument and the Capital building all together. Thanks for sharing and may God Bless our Armed Forces.

Harbor Point Homes For Sale

We're making dreams come true right here in Salisbury. That's right folks, if you've ever dreamed of owning water front property and or water view property, Harbor Point is that last place you'll ever need to look. We've got water and sewer right at your fingertips with more pressure than anywhere else in the City.

No more odors of chicken shit in the fields. We deliver pure human feces in the air tucked away in a secret field even the MDE wasn't aware of. Built some 30 feet higher than the property below, the City made sure they secured this property with lamp posts, blacktop and concrete as well as numerous other fillers even the MDE isn't aware of yet. The Mayor is so certain this sludge pit shown above is so healthy for the community and the environment, she's even willing to fight the MDE in Court to assure the liner is not leaking right into your front yards! I know I'm feeling MUCH safer now, how about you?

Yeah, for a mere million dollars you too can be a part of this exclusive community guaranteed to never gain value and always a reputation anyone and everyone will never forget. Buy in now and you too can be a part of a class action lawsuit against the City whereas those current owners could possibly win millions, IF you live to see the settlement date?

I know I'd love to see the Larson Family move to Harbor Point and get the City's version of this fine neighborhood, wouldn't you? Maybe Hadley can find some time to create his own version of "A Wonderful Day In The Neighborhood, Harbor Point."

Coming Soon to Harbor Point, SECURITY FENCES! That's right, feel more secure knowing the City will barbed wire a security fence surrounding this property in order to assure none of you can access this property to police what they're doing. After all, they've gotten away with illegal activities there for some 20 years now and they certainly want to make sure no one gets hurt on City land. After all, the MDE did such a fine job investigating these grounds over all these 20 years making sure we were all safe and secure, right? Ahhhhhhh, I feel so much better now.

The future joke will no longer be, I've got swamp land in Florida. It will be, I've got sludge land in Salisbury, MD., Harbor Point to be exact.
