Sheila Dixon Officially Concedes Race In Democratic Primary For Baltimore City Mayor

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Former Mayor Sheila Dixon officially ended her campaign Saturday and congratulated Brandon Scott on winning the Baltimore Mayoral Democratic primary election.

Dixon posted a message on social media. She said, in part:

“We are all in this together. With the current pandemic, protests and a Presidential general election on the horizon, now is not the time for frivolous divisions, but for unity.”

She also thanked all of her supporters and congratulated Scott on winning the Democratic nomination.

“I formally concede and offer my sincerest congratulations to a young man who is a native of this city, a product of our public schools, a young man I have watched grow in public service; a young man I have conversed with on many issues and one who has secured the mayoral democratic nomination.”

Dixon took over as the Mayor of Baltimore in January 2007 when Martin O’Malley was sworn in as governor. She served out the remaining term before being elected the first female Mayor and Baltimore’s third black Mayor in November 2007.

Bye retread - that City (like many OTHERS around these parts) must lean forward and stop bringing back prior mindsets.

Change is not only good, its inevitable and should be embraced.

In other words, "This is all f¤¤ked up. No matter who (i.e., what Democrat) gets elected, Baltimore will stay f¤¤ked up, and it'll be that person's responsibility. I don't want that person to be me, or any part of the crazy s¤៛t that Baltimore is gonna be."

Northwest Woodsman: At this very moment, Dixon is being fitted for his orange jumpsuit.

Saw Mr Scott featured in the Charm City episode on PBS. Very community oriented and working with all segments to improve the neighborhood. Don't know if the Republicans even have a candidate. Hopefully he will help improve Baltimore and make it safer for all.

Somebody check her campaign funding balance. She's been known to slither off with things that aren't hers.
