I'm surprised Harris didn't attack Pence on his handling of the HIV outbreaks in Indiana while he was governor. Would have been a good argument for why he shouldn't be the head of our covid task force. It was nice to see two fully functional adults on the debate stage.

Harris rose in CA due to Willie Brown and the Blue State effect. She offered the same exotic cocktail as Obama to the Dems pushing their world view. So her two elected slots in CA came without much real challenge. And as the boss in SF DA office she would get on a case if it would benefit her instead of carrying a regular case load or court schedule. She whacked Biden in the Dem debates but Tulsi cleaned her clock. Result: Not ready for prime time.
The Veep had a good congressional career and then was a responsible governor of a largely responsible state. He prevailed in contested elections and has sharper, better honed skills.
