Twitter, Facebook censor Trump's message comparing coronavirus to flu
Tech giants Twitter and Facebook both cracked down on President Trump comparing COVID-19 to the seasonal flu on Tuesday, resulting in the president calling for a repeal of Section 230.
“Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu,” Trump tweeted. “Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!”
Twitter put up a warning that shields the tweet from followers: “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
Trump’s followers had to select “view” in order to see the message that was covered by Twitter’s warning.

I repeat, a virus that went from China to Salisbury, Maryland in a month and a half 9 months ago has been through your body. You either got sick or you didn't, and if it hasn't reached you yet, it has been attacked by each person's antibodies who passed it along and it is much weaker to Americans now.
Sad really, but Twitter/Facebook are businesses which can do whatever they want. Many folks don't understand that businesses are not under gov't "rule" so when a sense of censorship takes place (or discrimination like not allowing you in) businesses can do this.
Twitter/Facebook can hide the President's account - but the message is quite clear and already out there.

So the platform has discrediting the POTUS by labeling his tweet as “misleading and potentially harmful”. This is far from settled science. They lack the authority to do this despite ownership of the platform.
According to the CDC, in the United States 12,000-61,000 people die every year from influenza, depending on the year. Covid-19 has killed over 215,000 Americans in 7-1/2 months.
To compare one to the other is not remotely accurate, and is the very definition of fake news.
Based on the Trump administrations OWN numbers, Covid is more than twice as deadly as influenza.
Trump is loosing this election, a lot of it due to his mishandling of this pandemic... and he is trying to mitigate the damage it has done to his re-election chances. Lying, doesn't help his cause.

Between 12000 (lowest year) and 61000 (2017) people die from the flu a year in the U.S.. No were near 100000 as said in this article. And the majority of those people that die from the flu, do not get a flu shot. This is simply not true what is stated in this article.

The government rigged all of the numbers by financial incentives to inflate cases. Plus running 30 cycles through a test to find coronavirus evidence that can be from childhood infections decades ago is fraud.
So is purposeful misleading language such as dying with COVID-19 as compared to from COVID-19. The 209,000 deaths are attributed to dying with the disease, not from it.
There are multiple documented experiments which found cloth masks to be of zero efficacy in preventing the transmission of virus. Virus is microscopic for crying out loud.

I just spoke to a respiratory therapist who works in the city on a covid floor. She has said the people she lost, would have died anyway. Very sick people. She sd they put everyone on a vent. Now they don't. They now have medicine that works, before they were blinded. She has said it is time to open up, open schools and move on. I trust her. It's time. Who are you asking for information from?

Flu kills many each year, and the number varies widely driven by their condition and the strain that year. Pneumonia kills many also. Many of those who die have other conditions which make them susceptible. We all know this and most accept those facts.
This year we have an added vector; it is bouncing off some and bringing down others, some with known risk and some we wouldn't expect to succumb. Again, we should be able to concur.
With those givens we can argue about how the situation has been addressed. One guy was in position to act and had the responsibility; he took action and has made continuous adjustments.
Everyone else has had a sideline seat and the ability to critique and Monday morning quarterback. None are more shameless in this than politicians. We do know the Obama-Biden track record with several major public illnesses; not a pretty picture.
