The Baltimore Police Department is preparing to handle any possible protests or demonstrations during the voting period.
The commissioner said the department does not have specific information about planned disruptions during in-person voting, but they are putting together a plan in the event demonstrations unfold.
The department has held two training sessions to go over how officers should handle any disruptions at the polls.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said no disruptions are expected, but the department is aware of the heated national rhetoric and the deep partisan divide.
"We are all seeing the same energy. We are all seeing the same social media conversations that there could be protests at voting locations. How do we do it, how do we keep people safe?" Harrison said.
Harrison said voters could see officers at voting centers in Baltimore. He said they are being careful not to appear to be overpolicing but instead responding to concern about safety.

Really? Do we really need to know what the LEOs will be doing in a month from now? In this day/age - this type of telling what you will do before doing it allows preparedness for the uglies to come out.
PLAN for it - don't tell us. Reminds me when another President would tell other countries what our troops were going to do and when.
There is a message hidden in this for Rickie. Don't tell everyone ahead of time the who/what/where/why/how of our LEOs will do during events. Why? Because it hasn't been successful YET!
Just do it and DEBRIEF everyone afterwards.

They are simply preparing for a Trump landslide victory. If the democrats were firmly in command of a lead and assured victory, they would be no need to prepare. By telling everyone ahead of time, they lay the groundwork for preventative action.
Whomever is doing this planning (and telling everyone about it) is simply trying to intimidate people who want to exercise their right to vote at the polls. They want to scare people to stay home. Don't be surprised if they Lockdown the city to prevent voters from in person voting. Just another scare tactic!
