Restaurants re-open after testing

Numerous restaurants that closed because of covid-19 cases, extra precautions or employee relief have re-opened.

Within the past two weeks, BLU Crabhouse and Raw Bar on 23rd Street, Shenanigan’s Irish Pub off Fourth Street, Fish Tales on 22nd Street, Dry Dock 28 on 27th Street, Buxy’s Salty Dog Saloon on 28th Street, Phillip’s Crab House on 21st Street, Albertino’s Brick Oven Eatery on 132nd Street, Barn 34 on 34th Street, Pit-n-Pub on 28th Street, Backshore Brewing on 10th Street, Hammerhead’s on Ninth Street, Macky’s Bayside Bar and Grill on 54th Street and 45th Street Tap House have all re-opened.

Layton’s Family Restaurant on 16th Street announced on July 28 that it would close for several days to give staff a break and get tested.

Dead Freddies Island Grill on 64th Street announced on the same day that it would close for cleaning and employee testing.

On Wednesday, Cafe Mirage on 128th Street said it would close for employee testing and professional sanitizing.

Albertino’s closed on July 19 after a staff member was experiencing similar symptoms to covid-19, according to owner Albert Levy. That staff member had not been at work for two weeks, but felt sick after an outdoor staff meeting.

Good read. Too bad the dollars before safety crowd have not acted responsibly. Putting dollars before lives is a always lose business strategy.

10:36
Poor thing
You don’t understand that in the real world (when you grow up) the dollars are necessary to live. There is no life without money. Either you earn your own money or somebody else (parents, society) has to pay your way.

Eventually your parents will stop paying you way.

10:36 -Dollars before lives is not a losing business strategy. If it truly was not, we would have no need for most regulations. Instead, we have tons of refs and laws implemented by a myriad of departments and agencies to prevent capitalism from grabbing every last penny, people be damned.

End the lockdowns and everyone go back to work or school. Private businesses are in jeopardy of closing for good if this nonsense keeps up. Oh, and 10:36 you stay home.

Congress is about agree (say that loosely) of another $3 TRILLION new stimulus. Dollars are necessary to live ABSOLUTELY - yet one of our own (Leighton from Secrets) was provided between $2-$5M with the first stimulus..

Dollars are there for the short term - but yes, WE all need to get back to work...its just waiting for the powers that be to make sensible decisions, regardless of personal feelings.

We voted this numbnuts in, if they don't do what we want, we need to vote them OUT.

Nov - around the corner!!!!

10:36 obviously you’ve never had your own business. If you’re worried STAY HOME. It’s not that hard of a concept.

So I have to ask you. I'm assuming you haven't been to the Dr? To church? To the store? Groceries? Walmart? Lowes? I mean if you think we are putting dollars before safety they surely you have kept all your dollars and not risked anyone's life have you?

Darn, back to staffing shortages. My profits are way down these 5 months versus the 5 months I was open last year! Honey call the cleaning service tell them not to open the Florida condominium until the end of October....sucks only 6 months of vacation this year, damn COVID-19 has really inconvenienced me!

10:36, instead of blaming those "horrible/bad/greedy" business owners why don't you blame the really "bad" people. You know, the ones who go to businesses for products and services(and pay for it with hard earned money) You're an idiot, and I must be one too for wasting my time replying to your post. Have you considered professional counseling for your need to blame everyone else for YOUR problems.
