President Trump indicated that he would fill a potential vacancy on the Supreme Court ahead of the election in November, as rumors of a potential retirement loom. In an interview with Hugh Hewitt, Trump said he would nominate a jurist to fill the seat quickly:
The prospect of filling a Supreme Court seat ahead of November sparks controversy on Capitol Hill, as Democrats warn Republicans of adhering to their own standard set in 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) famously declined to hold hearings for President Obama’s final nominee, Judge Merrick Garland. Hedging his bets on a GOP sweep in November of 2016, Leader McConnell argued that a justice should not be confirmed to the high court amidst divided government.

These dumbocrats NEVER back down or honor an agreement. Why should we?
Oh well I lied. Something Democrats know to well - how to lie. ππππ
I've been pleasantly surprised by his pick. Sides with the law and now with Supreme Leader Trump.
RBG will stay even if embalmed.
Block him all the way! Corrupt GOP blocked Obama from carrying out his constitutional powers for almost a year for no reason other than politics. They specifically stated he shouldn't have a selection during an election year. OK, so stick to that or else willingly admit to being a liar. No Trump picks unless he wins in November
They will continue the charade of Ginsburg’s living status until they can get an equally appalling person to take her dead self’s place.
Ginsburg has already joined Hillary in Heaven - minus their life-long demons. Jesus Christ saved both of their souls, and for that we should all rejoice!
rbg will not finish the year
When he wins november.
4:05 You remember selectively and incorrectly. The objection against taking Judge Garland's nomination was that an election was close, as it would be this year, and that Obama was a 'lame duck' since he would be leaving office having served the maximum two terms.
Currently, there are no SCOTUS vacancies, and more to the point, Trump is not a lame duck. He is eligible for another term. If he is reelected and a vacancy opens in 2024 and he nominates Judge Garland we can revisit the discussion.
Well after Gorsch. I wouldn't be in to much of a hurry. Unless he nominated his sister.
