New York has become the worst place to do business because the city that never sleeps is 'absolutely dead' amid coronavirus, a retailer chairman told MailOnline.
Customers across the US have been gradually returning to the nation's shopping malls as stores and restaurants opened up over the last couple of months.
'Foot traffic is down 80 to 90 per cent in New York City,' Lawrence Berger, chairman of sports merchandise retailer Lids, told MailOnline. 'It is not a minor outlier it’s like nothing we’ve never seen before. It is just absolutely dead.'
