BALTIMORE — Starting Thursday morning, Baltimore County residents must wear face masks while indoors as the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase.
Local leaders are reviewing whether adjustments are needed when it comes to the easing of coronavirus restrictions as 860 new coronavirus cases were reported Tuesday in Maryland.
Maryland is reporting a statewide positivity rate of 4.49%. There is an uptick in total hospitalizations: the number of acute care beds are up and intensive care beds were generally flat.
"It is more critical than ever for Marylanders to remain vigilant and take precautions to slow the spread," Gov. Larry Hogan tweeted Tuesday morning.
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said the county is testing thousands of residents per day, and finding a growing number of cases.
"Over the last week or so, it has become clear across the country and here in Maryland and in Baltimore County, our COVID numbers are no longer trending in the right direction," Olszewski said.
